OK, so the boards were hard. My friends who did the board prep review classes agreed. Lots of trivia and not much commonly seen stuff, which sucked. I studied well for it. I hope I passed. If not, I will literally memorize every detail of both review series that I have - especially the esoteric stuff. Of course, I will lose my job and have to move if that happens - so we are hoping not. There was only a 10-15% fail rate the last few years and we do not find out until October.

We are in town visiting my parents for the week. We have been doing a lot of shopping and packing and planning. We leave on Saturday for Rome!

Meg (eyre)- I did th BCP/lupron/stims protocol. Its all worth it! I'll be following your cycle and hope you finally get your BFP!!!

Meg (RN) - Glad you had fun on your trip. Some of the best trips we ever took were not to the beach, and we've had some cool horseback rides in our day. So worth it.

Sorry the boards were tougher than you expected. I'm sure you walked out of there feeling like you failed. At least that's how I felt with my nursing boards. That's just torture to have to wait that long to find out. When you do you start your new job? I'm sure you won't be in that 10-15%. Have a great time in Rome. I can't wait to hear about your trip.

    Meg-
They were tougher than anyone I know thought they would be. And, I don't think I failed - just not even used to that being on the table. I start on September 4th, maybe a couple days early to hire my nurse. That is actually one of the reasons I took this job, is that I get a nurse and they have great nurses up there. That's great for when your patient needs education - on diabetes or whatever. They are starting to interview candidates while I am away. As you know, we have a lot on our plate right now - not all bad, so I am going to focus on that. Also, I think how you do on the test depends on how everyone else does - and I am sure I prepared well more than average for this test.

We've met some people on cruisecritic.com before the trip and are planning on doing some group private excursions. You should check out your "rollcall" if you haven't already for your cruise. Really helps with the planning.

Sounds like you had a great trip Meg! Can't wait to check out the pics when I get home. Everything crossed for you Tiffany! I'm sure that it feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders (only to have another slightly smaller one take its place). Have fun on your trip!
Good luck Meg (eyre)! Hope this is it for you as well.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Hi everyone!
Meg-your pictures are gorgeous! So glad you had a great trip.

Tiffany-Congrats on finishing the boards. It must feel like some relief, but waiting for results=torture. I had to wait 6 weeks for my PT boards and it felt like forever! I can't believe you have to wait until October! A trip to Rome is a fantastic way to pass the time.

I also love non-beach vacations. The beach is fun, but I don't love the sun like I used to and I've never loved swimming in oceans. I'm too afraid of jelly fish!

Megeyre-glad you are getting the ball rolling...will be following your posts. Good luck!

Jenni-how are you doing? I hope all is moving along well for you.

Mari-crossing all my fingers for you. I'm glad you are feeling somewhat better. I've had some nasty headaches lately too...no fun.

I'm doing well and the nausea/fatigue is so much better in the last week or so. I'm not feeling relaxed, however. I have gotten such mixed information about the genetic mutation (MTHFR), it's keeping me a little stressed. My new OB was much more alarmed by it and even mentioned Lovenox injections. In the end, she said she was comfortable with low dose aspirin and the mega-dose of folic acid, so that's what I am doing. I am pretty sure the folic acid supplement brings on nausea, and I think my body-mind is helping me forget to take one dose a day pretty frequently. Even so, I am still taking 3000mg/day! The whole thing has me uncomfortable, especially since my original RE was not concerned in the slightest about it.

Otherwise, just same old, same old routine. Looking forward to visiting family next week.

Tiffany- Glad your boards are now behind you and hope your waiting time for the results flies by!

What goes everyone have going on this weekend? DH is riding in Pelotonia, a bike race to raise money for cancer research, so we have an event for that tomorrow night then the race on Saturday morning. It's fun for me to go with him and be a support, plus I get all the perks without having to ride I absolutely hate bike riding, I'm a runner and would much rather do that any day. Props to anyone who can ride for more than 5 miles... I start complaining about mile 2 haha

Also, I got all my meds in the mail today. Holy crap. There is a big box sitting in my dining room that I haven't went through yet because my in-laws are over and we are keeping this cycle on the DL for multiple reasons. It's killing me not to go through it and make sure we have everything we need!
