I've been mainly lurking lately. We've been pretty busy (a good busy) lately with my birthday then the beach and now gearing up for our next try. Plus I found out last week that my mom is having major surgery a week from today. It's beein in the works for a while apparently but she is just now telling me. Thanks Mom :eyeroll: Horrible timing but she will be as good as new soon and that's what is important. I have my baseline scan tomorrow morning and will start Lupron at that point. I really hope that we can get this party started sooner rather than later since DH is going out-of-town again for 5 weeks back-to-back starting 9/24. With Mom being in recovery for 2 months and MIL not dependable at all (she majorly showed her tail at the beach so much that she went home 4 days early), I'm back to worrying about logistics of everything. It will all work out though.
I've got everything crossed for you Mari!! I hope this little one sticks for you!
Other Meg - maybe we'll be cycle buddies. Good luck w/ everything!
Meg - good luck with the training. Are the girls back in school yet?

    Hi everyone else!

Nice to hear from you Jenni. You're thought of often. Good luck at your baseline scan. Hope this cycle goes well for you! What is your mom having surgery for (if you don't mind sharing)? Hope she has a healthy, speedy recovery.

Children mentioned...the girls went back to school last Wednesday so today was their 4th day. Oldest DD is surviving middle school. She was the one I was most concerned about but I couldn't let her know because that would worry her more. She is really quiet and really secludes herself. I'm hoping she will meet some new friends as she really doesn't have any. She kind of does it to herself by not socializing. She'd rather ignore the world and read a book. Also I was worried about her passing out on her first day. She passed out on her first day of school last year which ended with a trip to the ER within her first 30 minutes of school. We took her because it was the 2nd time she did it in 6 months and she hit her head. She ended up going back to school later that day per her choice.

Hey ladies, so numbers rose to 389-started at 76. I'm happy but of course DH read about numbers being much higher at this point so we are a little nervous. I mean if the RE was concerned she would be doing it every 2 days and she's not...I go back Friday again. I'm hoping to get an US and see my little sac!!! LOL. I will be 5 weeks on Friday.

It's a never ending amount of stress.

Glad to see a nice rise in beta numbers. I would trust your RE. There will always be worry throughout this whole process and even after.

I guess, and I have to look at the fact the numbers doubled which is a good sign. I will try my hardest not to stress this anymore. Like DH said "this is out of our hands now."

So glad that your numbers are rising! Continued T&Ps!

Glad the girls got back to school without any of the same excitement as last year. I can relate to your DD as far as the reading goes. Maybe there will be a club that interests her? Or encourage her to start a book club?

I had my baseline appt this morning. All looks well. No cysts which is surprising but I'm not complaining! I start my Lupron tonight and will hopefully start stimming later next week. If all goes well, my ER should be within the next 3-4 weeks. I'm excited but at the same time SO scared/nervous/worried. A lot of "what ifs" running through my head. Definitely doing some of the exercises I learned in therapy to quiet the negative thoughts. Meg - my mom is having her hip replaced. It's been bothering her for a while now and it has gotten to the point that something had to be done. She carries out some extra weight which hasn't helped the situation but there is some underlying arthritis going on as well. Apparently it's bone on bone degeneration. Yikes! I really hope that she is able to recover well. She's not known for her stick-with-it-ness. Hopefully she will surprise us all.

Jenni...glad your baseline went well and you are on your way to the next cycle. I can understand all the feelings and thoughts you are having right now. Hopefully you therapy sessions will help you through this cycle with some different coping mechanisms. Good luck to your mom with her upcoming surgery.

Jenni- Glad your scan went well. Sounds like we will be cycle buddies! I start stimming on Sat. Will keep you and your mom in my T&P- surgery is never fun.

Meg- I'm actually a MS teacher so I understand how hard it can be for some kids. I hope the beginning of this year goes smooth. I 2nd the rec to joining a book club or something similar that peaks her interest- always a great way to meet new people!

Mari- Glad to see good rises in your numbers. I know it's so hard to actually do- but hoping your able to enjoy the little moments (hopefully a u/s soon!) and keep your stress level at a manageable level.

AFM- School officially starts tomorrow with kids- the last few weeks has just been lots of meet with Powerpoints and a room full of adults so I'm definitely excited for the energy that a school full of kiddos brings! Moving to MS from the HS level, so it will be different; we had open house tonight and all the kids looked like babies to me LOL They're so cute! I'm also beginning my fall session for Grad school tomorrow so its a jammed packed week. I love being busy, though, I barley have enough time to think about all the IVF stuff. The mental break is nice, though its not really a break, my mind is just consumed with other stuff.

Meg...good luck on your first day of school! What do you teach in MS? It's always nice to keep your mind occupied with other things than IVF. Sounds like you are going to be busy, but it's all for good.

This morning when I was running I saw a fox run across the road. I've never seen an alive fox before. They've always been dead on the side of the road. It was kind of strange to be in town during the day. I think it was running from a group of trees to the cornfield on the edge of town. I'm glad I wasn't any closer because it would've scared me. DH and I are going to ride bikes tomorrow since he's off call in the am. My new bike is in the shop getting it's 100 mile tune-up so I'll have to ride something else. I can't wait to get back into yoga for the toning and strengthening aspect. I was going to do Zumba also but I think I'll wait until it's too cold outside to run or bike. I can run or bike with DH but for some reason he won't go to Zumba with me . So I feel bad ditching him to go to Zumba on the days we can run or bike.

Children mentioned...I'll have to ask DD if there are any book clubs at school. She's been going to the same school with the same group of kids since PK and really doesn't have many friends. It's just her and I don't think she cares. Her one friend that she has went to a different school out of town. Our DD's go to a small private school that goes through 6th grade, then in 7th grade they go to the public middle school or another private school out of town. I think my other DD's will transition to MS with no problems.

I can totally relate to your mind being somewhere. I started setting my class up yesterday and you can tell I'm not doing it the same way I always do. It's missing some "love." My mind is so preoccupied right now! BUT I have to get back on track so this just stinks!
