Happy April Fool's Day!!! My DH tricked me. He made me coffee and brought it to me and I took a drink and it was ice cold. I should've known when I grabbed the mug and it was cold. I actually did think that was odd. It was a good joke.

I didn't know how many of you out there knew my story. Those of you that didn't probably thought I was crazy talking about an ablation and taking BCP's. I do have to admit an ablation does scare me because of the finality of not being able to have children. Even though I am infertile and don't want any more children, the thought of making it final final does scare me. Also I forgot to mention that after going through all of this I wanted to do something for myself so I got a boob job. I had always said if I couldn't have a baby I was getting new boobs. I'm so glad I did that!

The being shy thing I have noticed has gotten better with age. I have always been shy. I also think DH has helped with it. Since knowing him I've become more outgoing. I still don't like to be in big crowds and have a hard time making conversation with ppl I don't know. The time when I knew I had become more outgoing was one time at work I got so frustrated with how something was being done so I went to the Director of Nursing's office and brought up my concerns. I never would've done that before I knew DH.

Jenni...Glad the wedding was fun. I'll be sure to check out your blog for pics. Good luck today at your scan. Update us when you get back. You should start a new thread with your cycle updates. That way ppl can see how things are going if they don't read or keep up with this.

Kara...Alzheimer's is such a sad disease. I dealt with it a lot when I worked in the nursing home. I'm glad your grandma was able to teach you how to knit when you were young. Your LP could've been a bit longer because of the residual from IVF. I know it can make your first cycle after a little different. Or it could be the DHEA or superfoods. I can't remember how my cycles were when I took DHEA. I thought about doing wheatgrass. I know that is supposed to be good. How do you take it?

I updated on the main board about my appt this morning. The short of it is that my levels were a little low but my scan looked great. RE added another med for tonight and I'll go back tomorrow for more labs. The earliest the ER will be is Wed. I'm pretty nervous about it but there's nothing I can do. Just have to keep rolling with the punches.
I did have a fairly productive afternoon though. DH finally submitted our taxes and for the first time in 7 years, we are actually getting money back!! I also made myself a blessing ring to hang all of the cards that we have gotten since our first IVF. I LOVE getting stuff in the mail and now I can see them all hanging on the doorknob. I'll try to get a picture later.
My co-worker went out on leave Friday and rumor has it, she's not coming back. I truly do wish her the best but I'm thrilled to not have to look at "belly" all day and hear all about it.
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm really digging the chat thread. Thanks Meg for setting it up.

We took our taxes to our accountant a month ago and we haven't heard that they are done yet or not. I hope we don't owe. A couple years ago we owed so much, we switched accountants after that. Your blessing ring sounds cool. That's a neat way to display things.

DH and I were busy yesterday. We did a lot of work outside getting stuff put out since it is so nice. We also went on a nice 5 mile bike ride. It was a very nice day.

I really don't like April's Fool's Day. It's a day that gives adults a reason to be immature in my opinion. I don't know how many "pregnancy" announcements I saw. Even though I am over having biological children, it does still bother me when I know ppl that are pregnant.

    Hi all!
I have been so busy this past weekend, with the baby shower and doing my own taxes. Eeek! Well the shower was a success! Out of 70 invitees, 45 did RSVP, but 18 had to cancel because of church and family things going on. However everyone sent a present, so she got a lot of things My baby blanket was not ready, so I decided to give money instead of buying anything. This is her second girl, so its hard to buy things she needs because she has so much stuff she will be reusing. I don't want to post a lot of pictures but here is a picture of the diaper cake I made:

My scan this morning showed a lot of growing follicles. I did not ask for a count, or count as they measured. This time I don't want to stress as much so I am just minimally involved with the details. However, I do want my E2 to be good so say a prayer or send me some positive vibes if you can
No one fooled me yesterday DH was super nice and helped me set up everything and then he dashed out in the last moment and he took the dog with him. Sometimes I think God gave me a great husband so I would not be longing for much (like children.)

Meg - I'm glad you had a good weekend I know getting fooled is not fun, but I have to give you DH props, that was a good one
Also, thank you for sharing your story. I knew little bits and pieces from following this board, but I am glad you took the time to tell us your story. I was reading it yesterday, I must say I teared up. Like Jina said this board would not be the same with out you

Jenni - I have everything crossed for you! Lots and lots of T&Ps

Kara - I am sorry about your grandmother. I lost my granny 6 years ago but the pain of loosing her is still very fresh. I was very close to her. Oh, after my lap I took the taxi back home, I just did not want to put anyone out, KWIM. But the taxi driver was very nice (he took me to and from hospital), he even helped me get to my door. The only thing that was not fun is not having my pain killers until DH came home. Yikes!

Jina - How are you doing? Update us when you can

    Sorry about the long thread!

Mimi - I'm glad that the shower went well. Can't wait to get home to see the cake you made.
Meg - The bike ride sounds wonderful! DH doesn't know how to ride a bike but I love riding.
Jina - Hope you are doing well!
Kara - I'm sorry too about your grandmother. Good luck as you continue on with your plans. KUP!

Not much here. I went this morning to get my labs drawn. I should hear back this afternoon. I don't know if it's nerves or all the dancing I did at the wedding Sat but I'm having some mild to moderate cramps. Maybe it's just leftie weighed down with all the eggies?

Jenni, I'm glad you had a nice time at the wedding and it reminded you and your DH of what's really important. I already replied to your update thread but wanted to wish you good luck again!

Kara, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. My grandma had Alzheimer's too. It was really difficult to watch her turn into someone I didn't recognize (I was 9 when it started and she passed away when I was 14). It got bad to the point where she would hit me. Anyway, I don't mean to bring up depressing things...just wanted you to know I understand a little.

Meg, haha....your DH sounds like a trickster! I just never got into April Fools...lol. I think the last time I pulled a prank was like 10 years ago...lol.

I think it's awesome you did something nice for yourself. I would totally do the same. My body has gone to sh!t for sure since starting this ttc journey. I'm totally getting a makeover once we either have a child or we decide that we're done ttc.

Oooh...a bike ride sounds awesome. I spent all day outside yesterday but I was doing yard work...not as fun as a bike ride!

Mimi, LOVE the diaper cake! You did an amazing job! Yay for lots of follies....sending tons of positive vibes your way!!

I'm very sorry about your grandmother. ((HUGS))

AFM, nothing much going on here....just waiting and waiting. How is it possible to have put on 5 lbs since getting on these bcps? I mean, I try to eat healthy but I know I don't get as much exercise as I should. I also know that it's probably just water retention (I hope!) but I'm gonna start having to wear yoga pants full time! lol

Anyhoo...I hate this waiting part....I'm very impatient when it comes to time....

Mimi...that diaper cake is so cute. This was at your house? That's a lot of ppl to have. I'm sure you are glad it is over with. I can totally understand not wanting to know the details of your cycle. Sometimes less is best.

Jina...I'm betting most of the pounds is water retention. That's what BCPs do. I am so worried about wt. gain since going on BCP. My ob/gyn said that he doesn't beleive in the ppl that gain a ton of wt from BCP's. It's mostly bloating and water retention. Another ob/gyn told me that the BCP's do not make you gain wt, it's the progesterone in them that causes you to be more hungry so if you watch what you eat you should be ok. I'm trying to keep an eye on that since starting them.

I guess the stupid water meter reader guy has to come back. He was supposed to come back last Tuesday to put something else on so it'd work but after waiting for him for an hour I gave up and locked the door and showered. I need to call and make an appt for him to come but I'm not going to make it too easy for him. We got our water bill for last month and holy moly was it high. DH called and they said the last few months have been a guesstimate since it hadn't been working and this month was catch up. It was about $40 more than other months. If the meter hasn't been working the past 5 months why are they now fixing it?! Our water is so expensive in our town. Yesterday we took water from the creek in our backyard to fill up our pond more. It worked out pretty slick. DH put the pump in the creek and hooked a hose to it and filled er up. Better than paying a ton for city water.

My grandparents do that with the creek that runs by their house. They use it to water their garden and the pretty flowers my grandfather planted years ago. He has an amazing green thumb. Unfortunately, he can't do too much now since his "incident" a few years ago. He had 2 massive hematomas (bleeds) on his brain and had to have surgery. He is 90 but before that would act younger than a 50 year old.
I'm sorry that the meterman is making things more difficult for you. It's unfortunate that you have to get your water from the city but that's pretty awesome that you found a work around for the pond.
I still haven't heard back from the RE and don't expect to for another hour or so. I really hope that I get to trigger tonight. :fingerscrossed:

That's too bad that that happened to your grandpa but it's very good that he acts much younger than his age. Had he been a "true" 90 yo, the brain bleeds probably would've killed him. Does he have any last effects from them?

My MIL had brain surgery about 4 years ago. She had had a seizure at home so they took her to the ER. In the ER they found a tumor on her brain. She got transferred to the University of Iowa so they could evaluate her. They found that the brain tumor was a meningioma (a non-cancerous tumor). The growth of that caused the seizure. They did a very thorough workup on her before removing the tumor. They worked up her eyes really well because they wanted to make sure they wouldn't damage anything during surgery. During that work-up they found melanoma on her retina. After they removed the tumor she had to have a plate with radiation on it put on her retina. She's a very lucky lady. That seizure/brain tumor was a blessing in disguise. Had she not had that the melanoma would've killed her. We were shocked when they didn't find melanoma anywhere else on her body. I swear she has 9 lives. This past fall she fell on a fan and fractured ribs, shoulder and collarbone. My DH had called their house and was talking to his dad over the phone when he said she started acting funny. DH told them to get her to the hospital immediately or to call 911 because her spleen had probably ruptured. Yep, it did. She was practically 1/2 dead when they took her back to surgery. Had DH not been talking to them at that time she would've been dead since his dad thought it was because the binder was too tight. She's made a full recovery from that also and they continue to travel the country see all their kids and grandchildren. Sorry that turned into a big book about MIL but it's pretty amazing what she's been through.

I hoping to make it to Zumba tomorrow. It will be the first time in a week since there was no Zumba last week. I want to go running or walking this evening. We'll see how the evening goes.

Jenni...I've got my fingers crossed for you! Glad we aren't the only ones that steal water from the creek.

What does everyone have planned for Easter? DH's parents and his brother and wife are coming. I'm never too thrilled about his brother visiting because he is very immature. He got married in October so maybe that has changed him. We are going to go to church and all that then go to my parent's house for Easter dinner.

I'm planning on having my transfer

Just got the call from my RE (and the 2nd call to move everything back a day). My levels almost doubled but he still wants me to do one more night of the new meds. He thinks that this will get the max number of eggies. So now my ER is scheduled for Thursday. Everything crossed that DH's last flight out of Chicago on Wednesday makes it back to RDU so that he can be there for it. But we do have his "sample" for back-up. Apparently the nurse told him this afternoon when she called that it was "perfect." He was quite proud of himself I'm SO glad that it's been moved because honestly MIL was stressing me out. She was still on the fence about coming up here and driving me to the clinic. In fact, she was going to get FIL to take me. We're close and all but not that close. I am getting more and more excited though. I still can't believe that in 6 days I'll be PUPO (Lord willing!)
