I'd be a little hesitant having my FIL take me to my ER also. Glad your levels are looking better. I hope everything works out as planned and DH makes it back without any problems. Hoping for an Easter baby for you. My ET of my last cycle was on Mother's Day.

That's incredible about your MIL. I'm glad that they caught it when they did. You mentioned that she travels - is she still doing well?
As for Pop, he definitely isn't himself anymore. He acts more his age now with even more memory loss. I think the fact that he was so active before at baseline made his decline to his current status even more pronounced. But he's still hanging in there and is one of my favorite people in the world. They live about 4 hours away so I don't get to see him as often as I would like. When he was sick, I would drive back and forth from here to here for about 6 weeks. It was one of the craziest times in my life. About 2 weeks before that, we learned that my brother was a drug addict. The only way we know was when he was arrested for 4 felonies!!! We shipped him off to rehab and then all this with my grandfather. They are both named John (my bro is named after Pop). My brother has 3+ years sober and not only got all the charges lessened (no jail time) but his record esponged. He's done a complete 180 and I couldn't be prouder. His 23rd birthday is Friday. Sorry this turned into a long thing about him. Since there's a big age gap and we had an...interesting upbringing (mom had undiagnosed and therefore untreated mental illness throughout my childhood) I feel more like his mom sometimes more than a sister. Gracious, I'm rambling. Sorry.

MIL is still doing well. She's had occasional seizures since the brain surgery but they are controlled with med changes. She's slowed down a bit but my FIL does all the driving across country.

Is your grandfather in a nursing home or is he still able to live at home. I'm sure you are right that the changes were more obvious because he acted so young. I'm glad your brother is doing well now. My older sister had drug addiction problems also and has been clean for years and turned her life around and is now an ICU nurse. How is your mom doing with her mental illness? My sister (same one that had the addiction problems) was just diagnosed as bipolar so is now working to get on the right meds for that.

I really HATE HATE HATE BCP's or at least my body getting used to them. I have some light brown CM. I'm not calling it spotting though. It's barely there but I still don't like it. I'm sure I'm just getting used to them and need to give it some time.

I'm glad that she is doing well. Pop and Nana still live in their home but there is talk of possibly downsizing them here in the next year or so. The situation with Mom is pretty complicated. She was taking meds but them stopped (as is common). I think that she is back on them but I'm not 100% sure. About a year ago she 'snapped' - threatened to divorce my dad, even moved out for a while. It was rough but I learned to detach. I went for about a month of not talking to her (we used to talk everyday) because I couldn't deal with it and didn't agree with her noncompliance w/ meds and treatment. From earliest memory to about my senior year in college, things were pretty bad. She was constantly tell me that she hated me and wished I was never born (hence my self-esteem issues). Then something changed and she was the mother that I needed and always wanted. Then about a year ago it seemed like history was repeating itself. But I'm stronger now and can stand up to her. Plus my brother's thing really helped to make us all more open and honest (sometimes brutally so). Mom has always said that she thinks that she shouldn't have had children (I know right?) but at least she admits it. I do love her, very much. Like I said, it's complicated. I think that's why I'm so close to my grandmother. She's the one person that showed me that unconditional love growing up.

I'm so sorry that I am spilling all this personal stuff. It feels so good to be able to share it though because I think that this IF process has really brought up some of this baggage that normally doesn't bother me. But everyone has their crosses to bear right?

Meg - I'm sorry that you are having a time w/ the BCPs. I hope that things settle down for you soon.

Everyone else -hope you are well!

Seems like you've turned into a wonderful lady despite the tough times growing up. I'm glad you've had your grandmother there for you.

DH decided to ride bikes instead. We rode 6.25 miles tonight. The way out on the trail was pretty easy but we turned around to go back and it was so windy. We rode in the wind for 2 miles. I was pooped when we were done. Then we went to Dairy Queen to get ice cream cones. Good way to end a bike ride, eat the calories I burned.

That's so great that you rode bikes again last night. And the DQ sounds wonderful! Do the kids ride with you?

    Children mentioned....

The girls rode the 5 miles with us on Sunday. Our youngest got a workout since she still has a bike with no gears and has to pedal so much more. Our middle has the same bike but she's a little tougher and doesn't complain. Last night we went while they were at dance class. Our oldest is the slowest on a bike even though she's the only one of the three that has gears and it should be the easiest. She had a pretty bad cycling accident 1 1/2 years ago where she broke both sides of her jaw and split her chin open pretty good. DH wouldn't even touch it to suture it. We had a plastic surgeon do it. She biffed it going down a hill. She's been a little hesitant on the bike since then but we make her get on and ride, otherwise she'll never get over it.

It's supposed to cool down to the 60's for the next week or so. I'm glad we took advantage of the nice weather while we had. I'm not complaining...60's is still nice but not as nice as 70's-80's!

What a wonderful family activity! We're supposed to get cooler weather this week as well. What's the situation with the meter man?

How's everyone else doing? Are the meds treating you well Mimi? What about the painting Jina?

Meg, hehe...I must admit, my appetite has been bigger lately. I'm trying so hard to keep it under control but it's very hard when you're a bit depressed...you know? I really hope it's just water retention...I refuse to believe that I put on 5 lbs. of fat this fast! lol I'm sorry the bcps are giving you so much trouble...what kind are you on? And why are you taking them again? I'm sorry, I must have missed or forgotten it if you already explained. I can be a dingbat sometimes...

Haha...that is awesome about getting water from the creek. It's probably better for animals to get creek water vs city water.

Wow, I'm sorry your MIL had to go through all that. It must have been really difficult for your family. I'm so glad she's fully recovered and is able to enjoy life again. ((HUGS))

Oh my gosh, how scary about your oldest daughter! I'm glad she's back on her bike and I hope she overcomes her fear. A bike ride sounds so awesome....hehe....DQ sounds really good to me too. We have one a few miles from here. I wonder...if I walked there and back, I would burn off all the calories that I would consume there....right? lol

Jenni, ((HUGS)) I'm sorry about your grandpa. It must have been really hard to watch his go through that. I'm sorry about your mom and brother too. I wish I was brave enough to share some of my stories with you but I'm still very uncomfortable talking about my past especially on a public forum. Just know that I understand what you're going through with your family....((HUGS))

I can't believe your ER is coming up so soon! I'm so excited for you! Fingers crossed that your DH makes it back on time! I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way!!!!!!

AFM, it's getting really hard to keep up with this thread....I'm sorry if I forgot anything important! Eeek! I hope not!

Well...I made it Zumba and back. It was rough since there hasn't been class for a week. Now I'm enjoying another cup of coffee before cleaning my house. It's been neglected because of the nice weather. I need to get it cleaned up for my IL's to come. Fortnuately DH's parents are very easy ppl and don't care what the house looks like. His brother, on the otherhand, is a bit high maintenance and acts like one of the kids. Hopefully since he has a wife now she can take care of him.

I'm on BCP because I have very heavy periods and hormone imbalance. We are hoping it will help with the periods since I'm going to take them non-stop and not get a period and help with the moods, libido, headaches, fatigue and everything else that comes with PMS and hormone imbalance. I'm taking Lo-Ovral. It's a mid-range estrogen dose pill. The last pills I took about 8 months ago were very low dose and I bled for 5 months straight. It helped with everything else but not that. I went into the appt with my gyn wanting an ablation but I had thought about it and that wouldn't help the hormones. With the BCP it takes care of (hopefully) both issues.

I don't have a problem keeping up with this thread because I'm bored a lot of the time. That's why I wanted to start it and to get to know everyone. It's fun to chat . I think part of my fatigue is boredom actually. Now that it's nicer outside I have more energy. I think with DH's new job I'll do a lot more also rather than sit at the computer. When he's home he's a busy body and I like to help him. He never sits down to relax.

Jenni...have you seen your RE yet today?
