I went to the Pampered Chef party and had a fun time. Noon was a nice time to have it. I ended up getting my mom and older sister an apple peeler/corer/slicer and DH outdoor drink stakes for Christmas. DH wants a place to set his drink when he's laying on his hammock. I played this gamble/game where you can choose to roll dice and get an evelope. You could either win the grand prize, a prize out of the prize bag, or have to host a party. Or you could not open your envelope and get the grand prize but have to book a party. Only me and another lady did it. I won a prize out of the prize bag and she won nothing and had to book a party. I was glad I didn't have to host a party but would've if I needed to. I always get suckered into booking a party at things like this because they offer you a discount or special gift and I have a hard time turning that down. But I left there without book a party.

I love pampered chef! Just wish it was not so expensive!
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your post earlier Margaret. I feel so bad and selfish. I got it on my phone email and didn't have time to read it at the time. Sounds like you have a lot of cute easy crafts. My mom used to make crafts for a Scandinavian fest we had at our church. I hope you have a job this week and can forget about the interview on Friday.
I have a lot of Pampered Chef stuff only because DH's first wife pretty much bought everything. I think she went a little overboard with things. But a lot of it is stuff I don't use that often. Pampered Chef has neat things but most of the stuff that was demonstrated today or talked about were things that I'd use a few times because it was new and then it'd just sit in my cupboard and get forgot about. I agree with it being expensive which is why I don't go to many of the parties I'm invited to since I always feel like I should buy something. I knew before I went that I was going to give the apple things to my mom and sister so I already had something in mind to buy. The drink holder stakes weren't any more expensive than what I found online. I did my research before I went thinking they might have something like that. It was $40 for 6 drink stakes and 1 bottle stake. Online I was finding them for $25 for one stake. All of those party type things are expensive. That's another reason I don't like hosting parties like that. I feel guilty inviting ppl to my party so they can buy stuff so I can get free or discounted items. I hosted a purse party last year and after that I said I was done doing parties. I enjoy having ppl over to my house so I figured if I wanted to do that I'd just invite ppl over for drinks and food and to socialize.
DH sat at the hospital all day since I was either gone or having violin lessons and saw one pt. He figures he might as well sit there than at home, that way he's already there if he has a pt. Of course, the minute he gets home he gets paged and had to leave. It always seems to happen that way.

Meg - don't feel bad. I forget about answering stuff all the time. Took me almost 3 weeks to send my new address to a friend... I am so hoping for a new job as well. Every time the phone has rung all day Sean has come to find me to see if it was a job offer...
Off to the pharmacy soon.
Outdoor drink stakes also work great for picnics. We had outdoor music festivals in Dallas and people would get set up with all kinds of fun stuff like that. Really can turn it into a froo-froo event.
Finished day 1/12 in a row. So far so good. Gonna take this one day at a time.
I agree with you on not hosting Pampered Chef or anything like that. I simply won't do it for that reason. I don't mind buying stuff like that but I don't want my friends to ever feel like they should. Also, amazon has many of the same things for cheaper with free shipping.

Tiffany...your countdown has begun. Hopefully your 12 days goes well. I love amazon.com. It's so easy to do online shopping when it's cheaper, with free shipping and comes right to your door. I think that is why I have a lot of my Christmas shopping done. Also I get a lot on ebay.
I just figured out we can pair our keyboard from our iMac with our iPad. My laptop is slowly starting to fizzle out and someday it's just going to die on me. It's silly for me to get a new laptop because DH has a laptop and we have two desktops, an iPad and our iPhones. I'm used to having my laptop next to the couch to hop on when I want. I'd use the iPad more if I had a keyboard to type with so once it dies it should work out well. We were talking about buying a keyboard for the iPad so I thought "I wonder if the one from the Mac will work" and it does. Glad I didn't waste $60 on that purchase.

All those crafts sounds great Margaret! I'm impressed at all that you have made so far.
Glad the party went well and that you were able to get what you wanted Meg. I've been to 3 parties in the last month - had to buy something at every one of them. Oh well.
You can do it Tiffany!
Not much going on here. Starting week 3... haven't weighed myself but my clothes feel very loose. I started at Pilates class last night at the gym. Goodness - muscles I had forgotten I had are aching. Excited about it though.
Hi to everyone else!!

Jenni...sounds like you are doing great! I'm happy for you. You'll have to reward yourself and buy some new clothes. Did you get your CD? I've never done a Pilates class but some of the yoga stuff we do is Pilates. I love the feeling of sore muscles. It makes me know I did something. I just found out there is no longer a morning Zumba class. It's only offered twice a week at 6:30pm, which would be hard for me to get to. I guess now I don't have to feel bad for not going to Zumba and I won't have to try to plan both yoga and Zumba. I kind of like yoga better anyways. It seems to be a more intense workout and does better toning and strengthening for me.
I need to go vote today. DH voted early. I still like to go to the polling place and vote. I live in a small enough town where I'm sure there will be no line. I'll be so happy when the political calls stop. They call my cell and house phone constantly. I've gotten to the point that I don't even get up and answer my house phone. Since Iowa is a swing state we get a lot of that stuff.
