So sorry you didn't get the results you were looking for. I know from my experience my issue was egg quality. My last ER I had 13 eggs and only 4 fertilized. My RE said that it is not about how many you have it's about the quality of them. So you might want to ask the RE at ET about the quality of the eggs. Ours were all done through ICSI and Assisted Hatching, who knows how many would have fertilized without ICSI since we have male factor as well. I took 2 days off work on my first ET... I personally did 2 days strict bedrest. It was for my own peace of mind, not because the RE told me. Good luck and yes it only takes 1!!!!

Like everyone says..it only takes one but I can completely understand your disappointment and frustration. Like Mari said about quality...if the quality is great.. then one is enough!! T & P. KUP on if you get a call back and more info!

Thanks so much for all your kind words. Right after I got the call, I was pretty disappointed but I am feeling better now. You all are right, quality is so much more important. Just praying that we get at least one good quality embie on Saturday and I will be happy. Well... two would be even better I guess I always thought we would have a few left over to freeze, but as long as we have strong ones to transfer I won't be too devastated that we don't have any to freeze.

I am glad I decided to take the day off tomorrow. I'm just going to relax, maybe go out to a movie by myself, and try to keep my mind off things. I don't know if I will take time off work next week. RE wants 48 hours of bed rest so if I have the ET on Saturday, I will have all day Saturday and Sunday to rest then hopefully back to work Monday. I have been trying not to read too much online, it's hard though!!

Thanks again, ladies. Lab is supposed to call around 10am tomorrow morning to give us an update on how the embies are doing. I will keep you all updated!

Meg- that is definitely less than I would expect with ICSI. Hopefully it will be enough. I think you still have decent chances. Keep your chin up. This whole process is so stressful. Hope you find some peace while you await news.

Try to enjoy the day today to yourself. Going back to work on Monday might be the best for you to keep your mind occupied. I'll be looking forward to your update after you get the call from your clinic.

FWIW...I did ICSI also and didn't get great fert. rates either. ICSI helps the eggs fertilize but it doesn't help the embies divide. Sometimes they need a little help hatching. On my 2nd cycle they were going to do assisted hatching if needed.

I will be thinking about you tomorrow! A movie by yourself sounds fantastic! In fact, I might just do that myself...

Got the report today and I feel that is very positive. Don't know what the typical grading system is, but the lab we use grades from 1-5, 1 being the best.

The 1 control embryo is a 2 cell grade 1. Of the 5 embryos that came from the frozen eggs, 2 did not divide over night. 1 is a 2 cell grade 1 and 2 embryos are a 2 cell grade 2. So basically, we have 4 good embryos from the 6 that fertilized.

So, hopefully, we will have 3 embryos to chose from tomorrow (as the embryos that came from the frozen eggs are priority to transfer for the study). Not sure the number we are going to transfer, we have to consult with our RE. I'm happy with this. Like so many of you said, it's about quality over quantity and we have 3 good quality embies so far so I'm pleased with that. ET is tomorrow morning!!!!

So you are doing a 3 day transfer, right? Hopefully there will not be any more drop out between now and then. How many embryos are you hoping to transfer?
