    Default Getting to know you

I thought it would be a good idea if we could get to know a little bit about eachother. Especially since we have some new ladies. You can say as little or much about yourself. If someone wants to come up with questions for others to answer, that'd be ok to.

I'm Megan and I'm 28 yrs old. DH is Dave and he is 42. I live in a small town in the middle of Iowa. I'm a registered nurse but now stay at home since DH and I got married. I work very part-time at a plastic surgeon's office every Wed afternoon. DH and I have been married for 3 1/2 years. We met at the hospital that we both worked at. He was an ER physician there. As you can see in my siggy we've been through 3 IVF cycles and have now come to terms with the fact that we may never have a child together. We are just leaving things in God's hands. We like to spend our summers at our lakehouse in NW Iowa.

    children mentioned....

I have 3 daughters whom I adopted after DH and I got married. He had them from a previous marriage and that marriage ended in the sudden death of his wife. They are ages 8, 9 and 10 and keep me busy. God had different plans for me when he introduced me to my DH. He maybe knew that I wouldn't be able to have children of my own but was making sure I could have a family. I have children, just in different ways than I ever imagined.

    Ok...I will try.

I am Tamika and I am 31. DH is 30 (hey I like em young lol). We met way back in junior high school. Were best friends....I went through a bad divorce and here we are 11 years later. I work FT. He works out of town a lot, commuting between Dallas and Houston (we have a condo there). We are looking to moving into a bigger house bc we are just running out of room. I have lived in Texas most of my life, but have also lived in NY, NC and VA.

    Children Ment

I have one 12 year old daughter (result of Clomid in 199. I have PCOS (bad) and he has MF. We went through countless fertility tx including Clomid, IUI's, and 3 rounds of back to back IVF. The 3rd IVF cycle resulted in the birth of our twin girls, born at 34 weeks. <3 <3...the pregnancy was terrible. I was hospitalized often for hyperemesis, had a PICC line and home health nurses coming to the house, daily injections, out on STRICT bed rest at 18 weeks, gestational diabetes, funneling cervix, separating pelvic bone, pre-eclampsia, congestive heart failure....all of that is water under the bridge as soon as I saw their tiny faces. I know what each and every one of you are going through and I pray every day for pregnancies and babies

    pg/child ment

I'm Jennifer, just turned 31 this week. I joined the board when I was starting clomid. After that I did an IVF cycle in Oct/Nov 2007 which never ended in a transfer but instead OHSS. All my embryos were frozen and we did 2 FETs to get our son, Deacon. I live in the greater Houston area - just north of the city actually but commute into Houston every day for work. I work for a very large, well known non-profit organization where I met my DH when he was a volunteer. We have been married for 5 years.

We don't have any plans to do IVF again. We have 4 frozen embryos remaining that we will transfer sometime in the very distant future. Other than that we aren't ttc and we aren't preventing. I continue to post on the IVF board because I can appreciate what you ladies are going through and I really have a heart for people in your (our) position.

I was married before and then divorced before I met DH. I ttc a total of 8 years before getting pg on my 2nd FET with ds. Now he is 2+yrs and I haven't prevented and still am not pg. Just praying all the time for a nice surprise one of these days - after 11 years of not preventing I'm sure I have a surprise waiting for me, right? lol

    - you need to come stay in your condo and have a meet up! What area of town is it in?

Hi I'm Kebrina. I'm 29 (30 in June) and I've been married to my husband for 5 yrs this Friday the 18th! We haven't been preventing for 7yrs now. We did 2 IUI cycles and 1 IVF cycle. We adopted 2 embryos from another couple and attempted an FET cycle in which both embryos didn't survive the thaw. Last August we started the adoption process and as of almost 3 weeks ago we are officially waiting.

I will always come around the IVF board because it got me through the hard times. I know what everyone is going through and I try to offer what I can.

Hi all... I'm Amanda. My DH is Corey and we just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on the 13th We are both 34 and we have 2 adorable furbabies, Bailey and Guinness, miniature dachshunds. They are brother and sister, the only 2 in the litter and are so completely different. Bailey (our female) is short-haired and brown and white... she's a bit high-strung (she likes to bark at everyone who dares walk in front of our house... or across the street... or down the road, LOL) and VERY vocal when she wants something, LOL. Guinness (our male) is long-haired and black, white and a little brown... he's so laid back, nothing bothers him but he always wants attention.

We have been TTC for 6 LONG years. We started working with a fertility specialist in 2007 and I got pregnant on my first cycle of Clomid. Unfortunately, I miscarried at about 5.5 weeks. We've done numerous Clomid cycles, 1 injectible cycle... then we moved to IVF. We've done 3 IVF cycles with no success. We are planning on doing 1 more IVF cycle, but beyond that... we just don't know.

Let's see... what else. I'm very crafty. I pretty much do every craft you can think of. My main passions are quilting, stamping/scrapbooking and crocheting. I also decorate cakes as a hobby. I have an on-line shop (well, 2 actually) where I sell vintage items... I love to go to yard sales and estate sales and the shops are just an extension of my love of bargain hunting for vintage items. Because I'm a quilter I also have a passion for vintage fabric and sewing machines. This past summer I picked up a 1918 Singer treadle sewing machine for $10!!!! Woo hoo!! I'm just waiting for a couple parts to come in so I can actually start using it. I can't wait!

That's about it... My life is pretty boring, LOL

What are everyone's hobbies?? I love to hear what other people enjoy doing or collecting or whatnot!!

I am Rachel and I also live in the Houston area. We are from MI, we lived about 40 minutes north of Detroit. Lived there our whole lives so it was quite a culture shock when we moved here. Although we/I miss my family and friends terribly, we love it here. We have met and made some great friends and I quickly have forgotten what snow is...lol.

We are moving on to our 2nd IVF after 3 failed medicated IUI's. Amanda will we be cycle buddies? I know you have mentioned it before, but when do you start up your next cycle?

I like to golf, shop, eat fab food, travel and watch bad reality TV (real housewives of OC, America's next top model, American idol...) i know, but it is my vice!!

I look forward to continuing getting to know each of you and I appreciate the support and advice of this board and you ladies!!
