My name is Carissa I have been around the boards for awhile, but this is my first time on the IVF board. DH and I have been trying to complete our family for the last 5 ½ years. I have PCOS and we have been through a lot in the last 5 years. We have had several losses and most recently, (the day before Thanksgiving) We lost a little girl as well as my left tube. After meeting with my RE this morning she felt like it was in our best interest to move to IVF instead of wasting more money on IUI’s. We are scared, excited, nervous, etc. We have no idea what to expect. My RE did say that given my current circumstance that we would have about a 60% of conceiving with IVF, as opposed to a less than 10% chance with the IUI. I like those odds. So anyway we go in for our first appt in 2 weeks. Any advice on this journey is much appreciated. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Hello and welcome. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about IVF. You may want to make a list of questions too to take with you to your appointment with your RE.

Welcome! I know it has been a long journey for you & I remember being in your shoes. I felt so many overwhelming emotions going into the IVF process, but IVF was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Good luck! You have found an amazing group of ladies. They have answered so many of my questions and been there through everything. If you have a question about something, there is someone here who will have an answer for you. I agree with PP to write down all your questions you have for the RE. That way you don't get nervous and forget what you want to ask. Make sure you are well informed about everything. Hopefully your stay here is short and sweet!

Carissa - I have PCO type ovaries, so IVF ended up being my only option. Clomid didn't do anything to me and injectable med cycles always eneded up being cancelled b/c I would make 25 eggs instead of 3-4. So after many years of trial and error, I found a new doc and went the IVF route. My fresh cycle resulted in 21 embryos, we transferred 2 and froze the remaining 19. That cycle ended in a miscarriage very early on but after that I went on to have two successful FET pregnancies.
Feel free to PM if you want more info.
