so have been silent since my last IVF attempt and my OHSS drama.. was on "break" for 2 months and tried to think of something else apart from baby Well... I'm back...
Started meds on wednesday to hopefully get to do a transfer of 2 frozen embryos around the end of the month. We were unable to transfer in May due to awful awful (i repeat... AWFUL!) OHSS symptoms. It was actually thanks to you ladies that I even knew I had OHSS - i had never heard of it and Dr hadn't mentioned anything. Ladies on this site were so great they even prescribed the right remedies before the Dr got to me (been guzzling gatorade non stop!). The good news is that I don't have to go through the shots again this time and am trying to get into the swing of the regimen of aspirin and nasal spray ...it's all good!
So being positive and hoping that the 2 embryos may transform into a little baby (or two!) - everyone seems worried that I may have twins - am secretly wishing for it - if my getting pregnant this time is any indication of future difficulties I would rather have a one shot pregnancy to at least make sure I have two children If the heavens are listening... let's make that a healthy girl n boy
Ssso... here goes round 2... wanted to reconnect with everyone to take me through this journey. August 29th would be our 3rd year wedding anniverssary - would be the best present. Praying hard and trying to stay calm, relaxed and zen.
Here's to a baby by this time next month
Glad to see you back! Hope your transfer brings you the best. I'll be looking forward to your updates. I'm happy you don't have to go through stimulation and ER again. Hoping you never have to!
IVF #1-cancelled d/t embryos arresting before transfer (3/09)
IVF #2-BFP 9wks-7/30/09 (6/09)
IVF #3-BFN (5/10)
So glad to hear from you again and am excited for the start of your new cycle. I wish you great success as you prepare for the transfer. Look forward to your updates
Hi there! I'm on my first round of IVF now- started stims 2 days ago. I think it's great that you have such a positive outlook after a difficult experience. Keep us posted on how things progress and good luck xo
I'm glad you're back! At least you had the time to let your body heal, and hopefully that will make everything smooth for you this time. It sounds like good things happen for you in August, so keep thinking positive!

It is nice to start seeing some activity on the board!! Good luck...keep us posted!!
HA! Be careful what you wish for (re: twinkies)!!
I hope this cycle is uneventful and super successful for you. Good luck and keep us posted!
How are you feeling? What kind of meds do you take when preparing for an FET?
Thank you all so much for your encouragement... been travelling over the past week and have not had a chance to sit down and respond!
Believe it or not, the powers that be decided to throw a few other curveballs my way - a) I forgot one of my key medications whilst I was travelling - had to call Dr here and get him to connect with his US Counterpart to send me a prescription to NY b) my nasal spray top got open in my purse and all the liquid emptied out during my trip - particular type of medication doesn't even get sold in the USA
So - came back to Montreal with my Dr's last comments being - "we may not be able to do the transfer because you didn't take the meds for 2 days". Can u all imagine the utter frustration I was in?
Well - just to show that little miracles are everywhere - yesterday went to the clinic to get my echo and blood tests to see if we could and... YES! Next Friay 5th August I shall be doing the transfer!! Yay yay yay! So all of you ladies out there - do not get discouraged no matter what and keep going!!!
We are super excited and happy that we can get the transfer done. Granted, this still does not mean I shall get pregnant nor that everything shall go as planned but.. for the moment.. I don't want to think about that and just want to enjoy the feeling that sometimes, things do work out and you do get what you want
Am feeling great - we are put on a huge regimen of meds which in general do not have any major side effects except fatigue and bloating (in my case). Imagine you're pms'ing and about to get your period - your body and mood are generally in that state for the duration of the meds.
Actually I'm on Suprefact nasal spray (stops ovulation) 5 times a day + 3 pills of Estrace 1mg twice a day + Aspirin every morning + baby vitamins
3 days before transfer shall increase Estrace dose to 2mg and shall begin intra-vaginal promedrium twice a day.
This is for embryo transfer only - during my pre-egg retrieval process was getting shots twice a day plus a whole bunch of pills.
Hope it helps!
