    Default Hi Ladies!!

Not sure if anyone remembers me... Just a quick update... we did a 2nd frozen DE cycle in June with RBA in Atlanta and did not work. I am getting ready to do another DE cycle here in Houston. This will be a fresh cycle and hoping that will be the difference. My donor starts to stim on Saturday and hope to retrieve around the the 17th. Looking forward to catching up with some of the vets and getting to know some of the newer members. Promise I will do better checking in and supporting!

Reb, how did you manage the progesterone injections with your previous attempts? I did my first one yesterday and YOUCH that sucker hurts today.

Hi! I put the bottle either under my boob or between my cleavage so it will warm up and so it is not a thick. My H pulls the skin tight when injects the needle and rub the area for a few minutes after. I also keep a heating pad on the area for about 15 mins or so. After about a week or so I am sore too... usually bruised and have some lumps. It seemed to take a month or so after stopping the shots before the area would be back to "normal". I still have spots that are numb...but it will be worth it if you get pregnant. Good luck!!

I seem to remember warming the progesterone oil first with my body heat too (like in my arm pit or between my legs since my hands are usually cold and I don't have much cleavage ) or wrapping in a heating pad. Then lying in a position usually somewhat face down so my butt could be relaxed as possible...I made the mistake of not positioning myself very well for the first few like more of a bent over position which must have tensed my butt and I was really sore. Also massaging the area right after while counterintuitive actually helped diminish soreness afterwards.

Good luck with your upcoming fresh DE cycle!

I just saw this post. Good luck and welcome back!! Your transfer will be here before you know it!

MrsChris...all the PP said it perfectly. They did everything I did with the shots. Relaxing your butt, warming up the oil, massaging the site are crucial. Make sure you are changing injection sites each time. I'm sure the first one is the worst because you do not know what to expect. They do get better (or you get used to them).

Thanks for the advice! I had imagined that the shot hurt immediately, but what I'm finding is that aside from a brief sting when the needle goes in, the shot is initially painless. (This might be because my husband is giving it very slow). It's the next day that I'm feeling it....I had one that didn't hurt at all until about 16 hours later, and then suddenly it was lumpy and sore. Very weird.

Massaging the area after the shot should hopefully help the progesterone & oil absorb and reduce the soreness and lumpiness. I swear I could hardly sit or walk without being in a world of pain after my first few poorly executed shots, but once I started warming the oil and massaging the area it made a huge difference!
