So, apparently this needs to be done before IVF? I had one last year with my laparoscopy, but since it's been so long, had another one today.
Everything looks good for starting IVF. The doctor said he was looking for fibroids, polyps and making sure there wasn't toxic fluid in the tubes. He found none of the above, so we are good to go.
What surprised me is that my tubes are completely open. The doctor explained (as he did before), that even though the tubes are open, they are dilated at both ends, and because of damage to the ends of the tubes, and scarring/adhesions along the tubes they are probably not able to move to pick up the egg. Still gave me a minute to second guess IVF at this point, though, since I was expecting the tubes to be blocked again.
Anyway, there are statistically very low rates of natural conception when you are a year past surgery for endo or tubal repair. So I guess we are still going ahead with it.
I had general anesthesia and then went about my normal daily routine (had a busy day planned)! A venti mocha, full caffeine from Starbucks was the magic cure, I think. But I am tired and sore now.
I think we'll be starting injections following my 1 week follow up with the doctor.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Glad the hysteroscopy went well and you still know that IVF is the best option for you. Coffee seems to be the magic cure for anything for me. Good luck on starting injections. Keep us updated!
