Really the meds aren't that bad. I think the anticipation of them is the worst part.

For me, the injections weren't too bad. All the doc appts made it difficult to work- and i hated the blood draws but I am a tough stick. Plus i faint sometimes- not my fault, just a physiologic response some people have. Anyway, I thought IVF was one of the most difficult things I have done. For lots of reasons. But we all got through it.
Hi Steph! I'm Kate. I am also brand new to this board. My introduction is a couple below yours, So you can read that if you wanna know about my problems rather than re-typing it here and boring everyone!
I too am waiting on my first consult. My insurance authorization just went through and my OB/GYN was supposed to fax it on tues and RE still hasn't gotten it. Very frustrated. Like you, I'm ready to get started. Lots of luck on your journey!! Glad to have someone who is starting this brand new journey at the same time. And I am so glad this board is active, so we can get lots of knowledge from those who have experienced all this!

Hi Kate! I'm really frustrated with our clinic as well. It seems a little excessive that I have to wait a month to get in. Although I have heard that it's pretty standard. Any other specialist I've ever seen and I've been able to get in a couple of weeks. Also, the longer it takes to get started the closer we get to the holidays. I'm pretty certain that this place closes down around Christmas, which is understandable. But what if the timing is all screwed up for me? I'm ready to get started now!![]()
I definitely understand what you are saying! I want to get started now too! And the thought of another surgery...and then moving on- seems so far out. I am thinking about timing around the holidays too. Feels kind of stressful.
Right after I posted to you, I finally got the call and I got in Sept 19 @ 315. I work the night before and that night. So I'm sure I will be tired on my shift but it will be worth it!

I'm glad you got an appointment this month! I'm on a cancellation list so maybe, just maybe, I will get in earlier too. In the meantime I've started a notebook with all of my questions. I have 2 pages full already. If I don't go for another month they are going to wish they had gotten me in earlier because my appointment will probably last hours and hours...hehe.
I'm excited I got in so soon too! I have my pages too!! I think they are used to it.![]()

Hi, I am new here too but not to pg.org...
Anyways, I am jealous on how quickly you get in! The one thing that I really hate about have free medical care is waiting for specialists. My doctor put the referral in at the beginning of March, my first appointment was today!
Just wanted to wish you luck.
