It's almost time....

The nurse from my REs office called today and she will be ordering my meds on Friday!!!! I go in on the 26th for baseline u/s and blood. I am so excited and nervous, this is our first IVF cycle. I am a litle scared because I am a control freak and have no idea what to expect. I read everything I can and the only thing I have found is everyone is different...lol!! The whole process is a bit overwhelming and scarey.

She said on the 26th she would give me a calendar to follow but from what I gather I will take lupron and continue my BCPs for 5 days. My period will start and then I will start gonal F. She said ER would be mid Feb maybe around the 17th. RE said because he will probably only be able to retrieve from my right we will do a 3 days transfer.

Wish me luck!! :teethchatter:

Good luck!!! I always found it so exciting to get my meds. It meant the time was coming closer. I really think that only "take charge" ppl are ones who have to go through IVF. Either that or it makes a person a control freak because there is no control at all. I'm the same way...I like to be in control and plan everything, but with IVF you can't.

Looking forward to following your journey!

Yay, you're on your way! The control factor is tough... try your best to trust your RE and let go a bit. I know how hard it is! I'm hoping to cycle right behind you ~ we're hoping for an early March retrieval and transfer.

Nurse called and said they we going to have me do menopur with gonal f when i start stimming. Why do some use menopur with ivf and some don't? I go in on the 30th to review all my meds and process would like to know any info so i can be prepared.

Thanks ladies!!

Menopur is another type of stim. I'm sure it depends on how your doc will think you'll respond. I think most use two types of stims. For all 3 of my cycles I used Follistim and Menopur or Repronex. Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer.

With my IVF we used Bravelle and Menopur. So yes you are right each person is different. Smile

Good luck on your first and (hopefully only) IVF cycle.
