It's been awhile... (m/c, child ment.)

Since I've been on the boards. A quick update on me - Riley is officially a toddler and keeping us all on our toes. He's awesome!

But I wanted to let everyone know that we're doing a FET on Thursday. I only have one snow pea leftover from Riley's cycle. I know the chances aren't great (heck, they're not even good), but DH and I really want a sibling for Riley. Compared to my two fresh IVF cycles and the two donor cycles, this FET cycle has been a total breeze. But now my fears are starting to set in. What if our one embie doesn't survive the thaw? What if it doesn't implant? Or worse, what if I miscarry for the 8th time? Realistically, I know that we have such a slim chance of this working, but I still find myself daydreaming about a LO.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on Thursday. Hope everyone is doing well!

Great to hear from you Christi!!! Good luck with your FET on Thursday. With everything you've been through it's so easy to think of all the negatives. Hoping for a positive result from this. Keep us posted!

Update on the FET: The transfer went smoothly!

The embryo survived the thaw and was starting to expand at the time of the transfer. They don't "regrade" embryos after a thaw, but when this embie was originally frozen, it was graded a "BBB" blastocyst. So, the first letter is a grade from A to F on how the fetal cells look. The second letter is a grade from A to F on how the placental cells look. And the third letter is a grade from A to F on how the "zona" looks. The embryologist said "BBB" is very good. In fact, Riley was a "BCC" blastocyst when he was transferred two years ago.

The transfer itself was very standard. I was given a valium (which didn't help my nerves at all), taken to the surgical suite, and the doc transferred the embie. It took maybe 20 mins total. The doc graded the transfer as "easy with no complications". Then I was taken back to the recovery room, where I stayed for 45 mins and was sent home.

I stayed in the bed for the rest of the day yesterday, but I've been up working today. The nurse yesterday said that there are new studies that show that women don't need to stay on bedrest for more than the day of the transfer, so that's their new policy.

So, I'm PUPO as far as I'm concerned. My beta is March 10, but I'll probably POAS early. I got a BFP on a HPT at 5.5dp5dt with Riley, so I'll at least wait until then. No symptoms so far! Wish me luck! Smile

Congrats on being PUPO!!! Sounds like everything went about as perfect as it could. That's awesome you had such a great graded embie. Can't wait to see your updates. Are you going to keep us updated when you POAS and obsess symptoms here?

I'm so glad to hear your embie survived the thaw and that you're PUPO. I will be stalking like crazy. I hope Riley gets a sibling soon!

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes! I'm really nervous about the beta tomorrow. I've taken two HPTs, both snow white. The first was at 4.5dp5dt. I really wasn't expecting a positive, but I am a POAS addict, so there you go. The second was at 6.5dp5dt, and I was kind of hoping for something because that's when I first tested positive with Riley. BUT, I have to remind myself that Riley was a twin and a fresh cycle, so although I'm disappointed, I'm trying to stay hopeful. I haven't tested again since Wednesday night.

As for symptoms, nothing at all. I mean, NOTHING. No twinges, no bb's hurting, no cramping, no headaches. I've been a little more tired than normal, but the whole family is recovering from the stomach flu this past weekend, so that's not too surprising.

I guess I just have to sit tight!

I hope you get a BFP tomorrow. There have been lots of FET on here that get BFP. I think they are just late implanters. I'll be thinking about you.

How was your beta? I

Well, as you can probably guess by my absence, the beta was negative. I'm still in a little bit of shock, as I was feeling very confident about the cycle (even with the lack of symptoms). That was our only snow pea from Riley's DE cycle. I'll be 43 next month, so that's pretty much it for us - for a multitude of reasons, but the main one is that we're so blessed to have Riley.

After so many years (literally, like 9 years) of TTC, it's kind of weird to know we're done. Really really done. DH and I haven't really talked in depth about the negative beta, or how we move forward from here, but it's very bittersweet in a way. I guess I still need time to digest that our journey is both fulfilled and over.

I'll still be on the boards cheering everyone on. I feel it is my duty to return the favor after so many years being supported by others. Good luck everyone!

I'm so sorry Christi. I was really hoping this wasn't the case. It is hard to accept the fact of the finality of being done with expanding your family. I made that decision 2 years ago. Now I am peace with it and happy. I hope you reach that point eventually.

I still can't stay away from this board. I love to follow everyone's journeys.

I was hoping that the outcome would be different. :bigarmhug:

Have you posted any recent updates on Riley? It's been a while since I've "seen" you around. I've missed you!
