Everything is great here. I am now a SAHM which I just love. It gets a tad repeative but I'm a scheduled kinda girl, so that's works out. We are in the process of potty training Gianna so there is a lot of pee on my floors....sigh. Leah is almost 5 months old and already has two teeth. She is amazing and I just love having a baby in the house again. How is S doing?

I am still trying to potty train these two! they don't want anything to do with it. The pediatrician told me that was normal and not to make a big deal about it or they would only resist more. So I am letting them do it on their terms. Of course I am tired of changing diapers, but what can I do.

Congrats Em! That is really exciting! I'm so jealous of people being preggo and having new babies! But we're done. I won't go through IVF again and these guys keep me busy enough.

wow, potty training scares me!! Sophia is 20 months, I'm going to wait to closer to her 2nd birthday to try, it will be summer then. Good luck!

We had decided that if neither of the 2 embryos that we got this cycle didn't take that it would be the end of IVF for us. It just took so very much out of me physically and emotionally. It was a very testing cycle on me, especially the terrible OHSS that I had/still have.

Wow - I can't believe how much Sophia looks like you in your siggie picture! So cute!!!

We feel the same way - if our frozen embryos don't result in a pg we are done with IVF. It was too hard on me emotionally and physically (with OHSS).

Wow everyone seems to be doing so great. Leah is doing so great and I can't believe Gianna will be 3 in like 6 weeks. We are actually doing great with the potty training, FINALLY. She went all day today and even wore her panties to nap. She got up dry and went right to the toilet. Of course we still have our pee on the floor days but we're getting there.

Hey everyone, I haven't had a chance to catch up with the other IVF mamas here yet -- Cheryl, I can't believe Gianna will be 3 soon!!! And same for your little ones, Jen (Brady)!! Wow, time flies. I have to find a way to post pics directly on here... it's been years since I've done that, so if you all have a hint, let me know.

Julia is 2 years, 4 months now, and we're very slowly working on potty training. We may try a little more active approach over Thanksgiving, since DH and I and family will be around to help her out. Right now she's going to daycare 3 days/week so I can work on my PhD dissertation, but I may need to bump that up to 4 days if I want to graduate by spring. She does like it there, though some days she still says, "No school, mommy, I want to stay home."

I joined a first-time moms group through my birth center a few weeks after Julia was born, and we all bonded so well that we all still see each other nearly every week. It's part playgroup, part mom's group. But with five moms, four of which have by now had their second babies, it gets to be a raucous gathering. None of them have dealt with IVF themselves, they all just got pg naturally. So it's been interesting seeing them one-by-one get pregnant and deliver their second babies, while with us it's a much different process. I told them last week that we were going ahead with using our one frozen embryo, and they're all very excited and also very curious about the process. But I'm glad I have them for support this time around, because when I got pg with Julia we kept everything so secret throughout most of the process, and it was a very lonely time.

It does amaze me, though, how quickly I forgot about the IVF ordeal once I got pg, let alone once I had Julia in my arms! It's been interesting to feel the excitement and nervousness that comes up since I've been going back to the IVF clinic to start this round. I do hope that this time around it'll be much less difficult than it was when we conceived Julia.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone who's had more than one child with IVF (or is trying for their second after IVF) can relate in a way...

Emma just finally potty trained. As hard as it was waiting for her to be FINALLY ready, it was so much easier because she really did it herself. No accidents, just started wearing panties and that's it. Now we wait for Sean! Now that could be awhile LOL! He just isn't aware of when he has to go. But now that she is all done, I can move on to him.

My second IVF was a tad easier but still full of the same fears that "what if it doesn't work?". Having Gianna really helped keep my mind off of it most of the time, that was so great. Good luck with IVF #2. Very exciting!

Gianna still sleeps in a pull up but at least she knows when she has to go during the day. If she pees in her panties, she gets time out for two minutes then we put a new pair on.....this is very rare these days though. Going #2 is still a challenge, it all depends if she wants to go on the potty or not.

:wavehello: I've been an awful grad member. Sorry! Life has been wonderful for us. Mina is such a joy that I still cry sometimes when I'm snuggling with her because I'm so grateful to have her in my life. I'm excited and nervous about sharing my time with her little sister when she comes in the next 5-9 weeks. I really thought we'd be in the midst of cycling for a sibling right now, but I guess there were other plans. Good luck to those of you that are trying again!

I posted this on the pg mummies thread too.... sorry for cross posting, just wanted everyone to know! Biggrin

Hi all, thought you might like an update!

We are back from our big u/s and have a healthy baby BOY! I've had so many scares throughout this pregnancy and am still labeled 'high-risk miscarriage'. Today was all good news though! Baby boy measuring a few of days ahead, perfect in every way. Placenta is high and well out of the way, cervix is tight shut.

excuse the fuzziness, they are photos of photos!

Sophia came to the scan and was so well behaved. She kept saying "Mummy, baby monkey TV". She thought that the baby looks like a monkey!

Today is a happy day

Wow...It has been literally about 6 months since Ive even logged onto PO. Congrats Em and I am glad everything is going well. Andrea, not too much longer!!

As for us, Isaac is doing great and pretty much caught up to "normal" 18 month olds. Still a little small, especially when I look at Jens pictures of Deacon! Isaac is 23 lbs right now. And yes, I get teary eyed sometimes with him too. Tentatively talking about an FET sometime this year.

My family life has been a little more stressful. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer last summer. She finished chemo in Nov. and goes back Monday for CT scan and blood work to see if anything is left. Very scared about that. I think thats about all. I will have to try to remember to check here more.

Update: Things didn't go so well with my mom's tests. They found 5 new spots of cancer that are non-operable. She will start a trial treatment next week to try to shrink the tumors. This might move up our plans for an FET.

I just called the lab b/c I was concerned about not getting a bill yet for my frozen embryos. I keep worrying that they destroyed them or something. Anyhow, I talked to the dr in the lab (they are fine) and he told me I have 2 straws left, 2 embryos in each  I was told when I did my transfer 2 years ago that we only had 3 embryos left. He said one straw didn't look good and the other just looked ok.

Even though we don't plan to transfer anytime soon, I feel so emotional. Why didn't I know there were 4? This changes our transfer plans. What if they were to all work? We don't want to destroy them or put them up for adoption, they are our children. I dunno - it may seems silly, but its really freaked me out. (not in a good or bad way)

I haven't been on here in so long. The holidays really just took me away from another fun. Em, Congrats on having a little boy. That is so very exciting. Gianna just 3 on the 9th. It is crazy to see how much she has grown and how fast it has gone. Feels like just yesterday we were so scared we'd never have biological children. Leah is also growing so fast. She will be 8 months on 2/8. She is trying so hard to crawl. I just love these girls up constantly. I feel so very blessed to have them in my life.

Tamika (hopefulT)'s Twins are Here!!! (x-post)

Tamika's twin girls were delivered at 34w2d by c-section yesterday (February 8th) at 11:24 am! Laydon weighed in at 3lbs 7oz and London weighed in at 4lbs 13oz. They are both in the NICU for observation but they are breathing on their own. London is on a CPAP machine to help her produce surfactant.

Tamika is doing as well as can be expected. She was diagnosed with pre-e the other day so she's still on a magnesium drip for that. Hopefully she'll be taken off that soon so she can go to the NICU to see her girls. Picture time!

Laydon!
