I agree the swim class sounds like a lot of fun. The girls love the water and I thought of getting us in a class as well.

Laydon had RSV and it is YUCKY!!!!! Very scary thing for sure.

I only know a couple of moms IRL and haven't gotten involved in any "groups". This is all new to me! Looking forward to some pool time (even if it is indoors). We have a nice, new outdoor pool that I haven't even been to yet.

Can't believe how awesome it is to be a mom

I haven't posted in a long time but as my first mother's day is coming up fast I was thinking today while feeding Tyler how insanely happy these two little miracles have made me. Can't quite explain, it but I guess I feel like a complete person now. Sooooo, happy to be a mom and alive. Life with twins is busy and hectic at times - I like to refer to it as "challenging" rather then hard or difficult, like my husband says, but I wouldn't change it for the world. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!! Here's a pic of Reef and Tyler at 3wks old....

Your baby boys are adorable. Happy first Mother's Day!!! You deserve it! Funny thing is I was just stalking you today to see if you'd posted lately and you hadn't posted this yet. When were they born and at how many weeks?

Hey Meg - Hope all is well by you. After all the bed rest from 21wks on and hospitalization at 32 wks for preterm labor, I actually was induced at 38 weeks! After laboring all day and pushing for almost 2 hrs the doctor finally said we should move on to plan B: c-section, which I was very happy to hear since I was exhausted at that point. Reef was 7lbs and Tyler 6,9oz and totally healthy. They are amazing.

Cindy...I'm so happy for you that you had 2 healthy baby boys and you made it all the way to 38 weeks. Good for you!!! They were good sizes! Good job momma!! Again...they are just adorable. I love their little jean jackets in your siggy pic.

Nevermind...not siggy pic, the pic you posted before.

Cindy,
I am so thrilled to hear about your boys! I can't believe you had to be induced at 38 weeks with 2 babies that were such healthy sizes! That's awesome!!! I'm sure you are incredibly busy, but I hope you'll continue to update everyone periodically. I'm glad that you finally have your little miracles after all the heartache that you had to endure. I hope everyone that visits this board will be able to experience motherhood.

Wow have not checked in here in quite some time. Love seeing all these beautiful babies being born. My 1st IVF baby is almost 4.5 yrs old, can you believe it??? She is finishing up preschool next month which she loves. She can write her name and pretty much anything you ask her to. She enjoys her friends very much but is so very close to her cousin (who is exactly 1 year younger then her). She will be entering Pre-K in September. Then there is Leah, my 2nd IVF miracle. She will be 2 in 3 weeks. I can't get over how fast it has gone. I have been home with her since she was born. Will be going back to work again in a few months. She is so very active, loves to run everywhere, talks up a storm and is a clown. She really enjoys making everyone laugh. I'll post some recent pics. Hope everyone is great!

I really don't wanna go back to work but its something I need to do. DH got laid off back in October and has been doing side work recently. We are hoping he starts his new job next month. I so wish I could stay home till Leah goes into Kindergarten but thats not gonna happen. I will miss my girls so much but I will also hug them tighter when I get home..lol

Congrats on your new LO on the way!!!

I just added it yesterday Smile Its so weird to have a ticker again and NOT one to countdown Deacon's next birthday.

Cheryl - Its so hard to work and be away from your kids. Deacon goes to daycare in my same building but I still hate being away from him all day, even though I can go visit any time. I'm sorry you have to go back.

I was hoping to be a SAHM with this LO but since our little surprise came a year earlier than we planned to do a FET - we can't afford it yet. Maybe by the time he/she is 1 I can stay home with both kids.

Cheryl nice to hear from you! I can't believe how big your girls are now! They are beautiful.

I haven't posted new pics here in a long time. Sean and Emma are 4 1/2 now and are also almost done with their first year of pre-school. They love it! They will have to go another year because they miss the cutoff for kindergarten.

WOW Jen - 4.5! I can't even believe it. It seems like I was just cycling and reading the grad boards and seeing all your LO's learn to do all their "firsts".

OMG I can't believe how big & beautiful Sean & Emma are. Can you believe our babies are 4.5? 4 felt like such a big girl number for me. Gianna is so self sufficient now. I love her independence but also miss a little bit. Gianna also has to go to Pre-K for next year. Around here you have to be 5 to enter kindergarten so 4 months after she starts, she'll be 6. Different from when I was a kid, I was 4 and 2 months later turned 5.

Yeah being a SAHM is so awesome. I always thought it would be boring but no way. With two kids there is always something to do. Plus I watch my 5 month old nephew every day too.

Haven't been on the boards in quite awhile!! Having and raising a baby is by far the hardest, and simultaneously the most rewarding thing I've ever done. But it has been a huge time suck and it's only recently that I've been able to even turn on my computer, much less post.

Riley is doing great and growing like a weed! It's so cliche, but I can't even believe how fast the time has gone. I've posted a few pics below. They're "old" from when he was 3 months old. For my virtual friends, PM me and I'll give you my FB account. I'm much better at updating that account with recent pics with my phone than actually sitting down at a computer anymore.

It seems that the IVF board has slowed down quite a bit since I was ttc, but I hope it never goes away. This board saved my sanity - on more than one occasion. Good to see all the updates and pics of the LO's. Makes my heart happy. Smile

Hey Girls! I know its been a while. I don't have much of an excuse. Things have been crazy busy over here. My mom passed away in March and my dad is looking at selling his house and I've been helping him get things in order.

Rhys is doing GREAT! He is 6 months old today!!! Can you believe it? There isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel completely blessed. I'm so thankful that I had you girls to get me through IVF.

He is eating solids regularly now - breakfast, lunch and dinner. He likes pretty much everything, except green beans. I usually mix those with fruit to get him to eat them. He has his 2 bottom front teeth. He can roll from stomach to back and back to stomach. He's not crawling yet, but can turn in a complete circle while on his belly and is "swimming" in place. He just hasn't mastered getting his knees under him yet. He can sit for short periods of time unassisted and we are continuing to work on it. He has his 6 month appt on Tuesday, so I'm not sure how much he weighs exactly. My estimates are around 18.5 pounds. He is just a happy baby and I love spending all of my time with him!

I thought I would share his 6 month pics with you guys!

Thank you, Jodi!

Yes, my daughter is going into highschool next year... I can't believe it! She was accepted into the International Baccalaureate program and we are all super excited for her and just so proud!

Good luck with your new "highschooler" as well... let the roller coaster ride begin! Have a great summer!

Thank you, Meg... we are all coping pretty well. Mother's Day was very bitter sweet this year to say the least.

Yes, Rhys is a super happy baby - at least now he is. He was what I would consider colicky for the first several months, but that started to disappear around month 4. He does get crabby if he gets too tired and fights going to sleep. Its almost like he is scared he is going to miss out on something!

So, Riley turned 7 months this past week. It's truly unbelievable how fast they grow! It seems like a lifetime ago that we were struggling to get pg, and at the same time, it seems like Riley was born just yesterday! Here's a few pics of Riley from our neighborhood Fourth of July parade. Smile

realized i never posted about Olivia here....

After an eventful pregnancy, had Olivia Evelyn Teodora July 16th. She was 9lbs 10oz and 20in. She unfort. had to stay in nicu for a week - sugar levels were super low (symptom from my gest. diabetes) and she got jaundice and was dehydrated......

She's doing great now though and i just can't believe she's here. It was a year ago this week that the 1st IVF didn't work out.......and here we are with a little miracle.
I'll have to load a new pic...but that's one of her newborn pics in my siggy

Our little boy has arrived...a little early. We did the embryo transfer back on Easter Sunday and his EDD was Jan 10, 2012. After a rather uneventful pregnancy, I was surprised to find out my BP was elevated at my 36 week appt. The next day I found out blood labs showed elevated liver enzymes and they were concerned I was showing symptoms of HELLP syndrome though to be honest I felt fine despite the regular 3rd trimester discomforts. I was admitted to the hospital that very day and about 5 hours after being admitted he made his arrival via a pain med free, vaginal delivery on Dec 15, 2011. Needless to say we were in shock those initial days & somewhat overwelmed b/c we had not organized the house yet & I was still recovering healthwise. They were a little concerned that hewas losing weight (he started out at 6lb 11oz) but now he is feeding like a champ and putting on weight though he still seems tiny compared to other newborns. We are settling in well at home and look forward to the holidays with our surprise present.

Christina...Thanks for updating over here. I've been following you on your lodge. I'm so happy that you have a healthy baby boy despite him being a little early. Is name is beautiful. What a neat way to honor your father. Glad you delivered him before HELLP syndrome became an issue. I've known someone that had it and she was very sick.

cross posted on other boards:

Kara Elliot
Dec 27th, 8:36 am
7lb 1 oz
20.5 in
apgars were 8, 9

On Tuesday, Dec 27th we were scheduled for a csection at 8:30 am. I got to the hospital at 7:15 and by 8:36 Kara was born. I had been so nervous all morning for some reason, like scared to death of the surgery. That's pretty out of character of me but I couldn't shake it. At one point right when the doctor had walked in I started saying "I'm scared, please give me something, I'm really to scared to do this!" and the anesthesiologist said "scared of what, they have already started and she will be here in a minute". After that for some reason I was completely calm and didn't mind the rest of the procedure. They let Justin stand up and video the actual delivery so that was really cool. As soon as she was out the nurse said "do you have big babies? she is big" but then they showed her to me and all I could think was how tiny she was. Then the doctors and nurses were all commenting about something on her face. They had Jus come over and look and it was a gold piece of glitter. So weird! They said they have never seen anything like that before. Anyhow, they finished up my surgery and we went to recover for a few hours. Once I had been in there for an hour they allowed Deacon to come back and see us. He walked in and was so excited that Sister was finally here. He was thrilled to give her a hug and a kiss. Then he said 'come on daddy, let's go get mimi (my mom) so she can see her' LOL.

After I finished the required time we were moved to a room. The nurses was great and loved Deacon, so they let him push her to my room all by himself (with Jus' supervision). As soon we we settled in the grandparents came in to meet her. I was pretty sick all day from the spinal and then exhausted from the anti-nausea meds. Justin stayed with me he first two nights and then my MIL stayed the last night. We got home yesterday (Friday).

Since Kara was born I have literally been on cloud 9. I never put her down and I miss her when someone else holds her for too long. I even held her to sleep every night in the hospital. She is such a good baby but man does she have her days and nights confused. She sleeps the entire day and is wide awake from 11p to 7a. I spend my nights trying to stay away and mu days trying to catch up on sleep. But right now I don't mind too much. Smile I am going to try to work on reversing her days and nights this week while I have Justin home to help me with Deacon. Jus has been amazing with D this week. He is playing with him and taking care of everything for him so I can focus on me and Kara. Its been much easier than I ever expected but I know its only because Jus has been so helpful.

Kara lost 9% of her body weight in the hospital and the nurses were really concerned. The pedi said she wasn't as worried since I'm a BTDT mom and she remembers how chubby Deacon got when I was BFing him. She asked me to nurse every 2 hours between now and our appt on Tuesday just to help her gain a little. However, had Kara been my first baby we would still be in the hospital. She was down to 6lb 6 oz when we left and she is TEENY TINY! She is so small and its the first thing everyone comments on when they see her. Even her features are tiny.

Anyhow, that's what we have been up to - exhausted days, tons of visitors around the clock and adjusting to being a family of 4. Its been amazing but it leaves no time for me to do anything else right night. I'm not sure when I will be back on the boards regularly but I will try to get on and lurk. I'm on FB since its easy to do on my phone while nursing or pumping. I'm sure you have seen her pictures on FB. I'll try to get some online soon or at least more on FB.

Just wanted to post - I had the twins slightly premature EDD (40 weeks) was 30 Aug but they arrived 31 July still a fairly healthy weight (5.10 and 5.14) but both had a stay in the NICU, totalling about 3 weeks. Anthony was out after 2 and Bella had an extra week and came home with an apnea monitor and a script for caffeine to help.

Here's a pic of me and my 3 IVF babies... (oldest DD was conceived naturally)

And twins in NICU...

My twins were just born, this Monday (9/24), at 37 1/2 weeks. They are very healthy despite a difference in size/weight, whew! It was a long road & as much as I was worried about IVF, it was well worth it. We're all home now, recovering, trying to adjust to a whole new life. Smile

Congrats on the birth of your twins. I've been stalking you a bit. I'll have to go read your post. Hopefully you can be an inspiration to others to use donor eggs. Hi all. I try to pop in here once in a while to see what folks are up to. Little background on us in case you don't remember or know me: our first IUI was Jan 2011 (BFN), then BFP with our first and only IVF in April 2011 about a month after my father passed away. Baby was due in January 2012 but ended up coming early due to my developing signs of HELLP syndrome. My little guy is approaching his first birthday this Dec 15th. The past few months have been flying by compared to the first couple of months after he was born. He was a pretty screamy, intense newborn but seems to be mellowing as he gets older Smile He is keeping me busy, cruising furniture/walls and babbling away. I work a few weekend shifts here and there but mostly stay home with my baby just soaking it all in. Not sure if and when we will try for baby #2. Would probably try on our own first just to see if we have any luck, otherwise we have six little snowflakes waiting if we decide to try IFV again. Anyway, glad to see this board is still providing great support for those who need it...I know it was a great resource for me.

Happy Holidays!
