We have our c-section scheduled for tuesday next week. I'm super nervous about how we're gonna handle two newborns at the same time and, up until a few days ago I wasn't really done being pg. A couple of days ago my belly started itching so bad there's nothing that can give me relief except delivery. It's even keeping me up at night.
Last tuesday we had an u/s and they were measuring at 5lbs10oz and 5lbs11oz, so hopefully they'll be close to 6lbs when they're born.
I can't believe I'll be meeting them this soon.
Dani - That is awesome! They are a good size. Post some pics of your two little angels as soon as you are able. I'm so excited for you! I understand the apprehension but everything will fall into place - you'll see. Hope the c/s goes smoothly.
Cindy, sorry about the pain you're in. The foot pain is really annoying, especially since I wasn't really expecting it (nobody had ever mentioned that to me before). In my case, it would come and go. I had it really bad from like 12 weeks to 18 weeks, and then nothing until after 28 weeks which came back with a vengeance and in both feet. It got better last week, when the belly itching started. I have no clue about what to do with the back pain, I haven't had it that bad. When I'm sitting I try using a pillow or something that straightens my back as long as possible. Hope you get some relief soon.
ETA - I have no more good pics of them since there hardly anymore space for them to move. They're both facing my back, and the only thing we were able to see was one ear LOL. It's been a while since we saw their faces.
Cindy, I cannto believe you are almost 20 weeks already! Time has flown by (probably not for you)! Can't wait to hear about your Level II u/s!!
Dani, How exciting to have your day!! And the weights sound great so babies should be nice and healthy. I bet you are nervous having two, but in the end, you will probably look back and laugh at how crazy the first 6 months were!! Good luck to you!!
AFM, still pregnant. I feel ready, although I don't have my bag packed. Just playing the waiting game. I just hope I don't go overdue!
IVF #1: July-2006: Sweet baby boy, G, born April 2007 (3dt of 2)
FET #1 (from IVF #3): Sweet baby boy, N, born November 2010 (3dt of 2)
Good luck Dani! Can't wait to see pictures of your LO's!
I haven't posted much here b/c everything has been pretty uneventful (thank goodness!) I was in L/D MOnday night b/c I had SO much thin, watery discharge that day that I was concerned I was leaking amniotic fluid. I called and they said they should probably check it out but thankfully, everything was fine. I got an extra peek at baby too! Our big US is Monday so I am really excited about that. We are waiting to be surprised on the sex though.
Also, I am looking into hiring a doula for this pregnancy to help up my chances of a successful VBAC and positive birth experience, since DS's birth was so traumatic and I was under general anesthesia so DH and I didn't even witness it. I'm excited about that and think it will be worth the expense if I has a happy, successful VBAC experience.
Jana - I had my photo shoot this past weekend. We did it outside in the photographer's backyard. She suggested I just wear tight black yoga pants and a tight tank top (with the bra built in) to show off my belly as much as possible. We didn't do any nekked pics, but I pulled up the tank to expose the belly for alot of the pics. Dh was in several of the pics too. I can't wait to see them!
Cindy - I can't believe your 20-week u/s is coming up!!!! After everything you've been through, and to be at 20 weeks is just amazing. I'm so happy for you! But I'm sorry about how uncomfortable you are. My back has JUST started hurting pretty much every day, all day long. I also can't lay down for too long because other things start hurting too.
Dani - Post some pics!!! I hope your delivery went well and can't wait to hear about it!!! Congratulations!
BETH!!! - I'm so happy to see you!! Your son is just adorable.
Kim - I also can't believe how far along you are. It is amazing how long we all seem to suffer, and then time just flies by once you're pregnant. I'm also looking into a doula even though I'm having a C-section. I don't want DH doing anything other than petting me and telling me how much he loves me while we deliver.
Just a quick little update:
20 week US today and baby is perfect! I stayed strong and didn't find out the baby's sex. Next appt at 24 weeks. At 28 weeks, they'll start monitoring my liver enzymes b/c of my liver failure last pregnancy. BP was up a little but I also had a headache and was tired/hungry so that probably didn't help.
Dr also okayed me to hire a doula if I wanted to help me with a VBAC. Looking into them has gotten me excited...I think it will be so helpful to get me to succeed and avoid another C/S.
20wk u/s went great last week but they had mistakenly scheduled us on a day the dr who reviews all Level 2 u/s was not there so we had to go back yesterday. Babies look great! DH's curiosity got the best of him and he asked the sexes - both are boys! I was a little disappointed at first b/c we won't be trying again due to my age so this is it. But then when it comes down to it - it really didn't matter to me and same sex will be much easier I think. Anyway the recheck with the dr...amniotic fluid is semi-high for both and my cervix is now only at 2.2!! They put me on monitor but no contractions - thank God! But, yup, now I'm on bedrest and prometrium - they will check again nxt wk to see if any improvement and if not they may put me in hospital. I had some extra b/w too to check for some fetal virus' and stuff that may cause the extra fluid and I will have the 1hr glucose test done when I go in next wk as GD can also cause extra fluid. So weird to be on bedrest when you don't feel like there's anything wrong. I'm already bored and looking online to get store numbers to ask if they have wheelchairs available. I was on a roll the last couple wks - got the double baby jogger, ordered the cribs, started getting nursery cleaned out - I figured I should have everything in place at least a month before EDD in case they came early - but never expected this. In my heart I feel everything will be ok - all I can do is follow dr's orders and pray my body will respond. I keep telling DH all will be fine to keep him calm. T & Ps appreciated.
Cindy - I'm so sorry to hear that you're on bedrest and having complications with your cervix! DId they tell you how long you have to stay on bedrest if things don't improve? Are they going to do a cerclage? Also, I have about a month left and am already completely out of energy to work on baby's room, so you may want to start trying to get the room done as soon as possible!! Maybe the start of the third tri?
Good luck and keep us posted on your follow up appt!
