Hi everyone its been a while since I have been on the boards just wanted to update all of you. I am now 17 weeks pregnant all is going well I have had no morning sickness and have been feeling pretty good I have been running to the bathroom alot and have had a little heartburn and gas but I feel I have been pretty lucky so far. We go for our 20 week ultrasound on feb 11th and I am a little nervous but also excited to see the baby again and make sure all is well. We have decieded not to find out the sex which has been a really hard decison but we feel we have waited 7 years we can wait a few more months. The baby has a good heart beat and the last time we went to the doctor he said the baby was moving when he was listening for the heart beat but I didn't feel it yet. I can't wait to feel that movement and it should be any day now. I hope everyone on here is doing well I love to read all the post to find out how all your pregnacy's are going. Stephanie good look with the triplets I can't wait to here how the pregnacy progresses

Ok so when people hear it's twins some ask if they are natural. I usually get totally stuck on this question because it's kind of nosy for people I don't know and also because I did do injectables with timed intercourse to conceive and in a way that was just getting my body to ovulate like it was suppose to do and baby making sex so that's pretty natural (to me I guess). I also struggle because I am proud of my journey through infertility because it was really, really hard on me and I know many other people struggle with it and are embarrassed or don't talk about it and in a way sometimes I do want to say that I had a little help in case they, or someone they know is having trouble that they will see me as a sign of hope that it can happen, especially since I use to think it would never happen for me and would cry all the time. But when I do share that I had to take fertility drugs, I get the "ohhhh....." look as if they aren't that special anymore because it wasn't completely natural. Does anyone understand?

I understand. Even without twins - I get it. My mom loves to tell everyone that Deacon was "frozen for 3 months". Somehow she always fits that into any conversation - even with perfect strangers. I've tried to tell her that SOME IVF moms would be really offended by that...maybe hinting that she could lay off the story a bit...but she says she is just so proud of him and that he is here now. I am very proud of my journey and I don't regret one step I took to get him here - but at the same time - not everyone agrees with IVF or ART in general. And when someone gives you the "ohhhhh" like we "cheated", well, that just pisses me off. Like their child is more "natural" than ours?!? Is that the right word? They are all created the same way - with sperm and eggs - that's pretty natural to me.

I honestly don't think I will ever stop sharing my story. I know how encouraging it was for me to hear another woman's journey when I was ttc so I want to be that little glimmer of hope for someone else when I can be. I've told strangers in line at the grocery store, I've taken time to tell my story in the mall, shopping for baby food, at babies r us, the doctor's office, and all kinds of places. And you know, if those people with the reaction of "ohhhh" don't like how my child was conceived - well then they need to learn to mind their own dang business. You KNOW if you would have said that they were spontaneous twins they would have been dissappointed because seriously - where is the juicy gossip in knowing that two people DTD and WOW, got pg with twins? Nah, people need someone to talk about - like "Gee, can you believe that girl did IF treatments, ugh, I would NEVER do that!" So I just say to them "Suck it people! I have an amazing child - that's all that matters to me!"

    See - I understand

Jenn, you nailed that one on the head! My typical response to "nosy" questions is to just ask them why they want to know something. That usually slows them down. I mean really...does it matter to anyone how you got pregnant with twins (or how you got pregnant at all)? That being said, I have come across many others who have struggled with IF (some who now have kids and others who still don't) who completely understand how thrilled my DH and I were to have a child.

Has anyone heard from Cindy? I hope she and the twins are doing well. If you're out there, Cindy we would love an update.

Things are well here. I am 30 weeks 6 days....the day my DS was born! So a huge milestone to pass. I have my next appt Monday and then I start the 2 week ones.
