    Default IVF Newbie

Hi, my name is Mirela. DH and I were TTC since 2008. In 2009 we saw an infertility specialist and were told that DH was not producing any sperm and were recommended IUI with donor. We decided to take a break to think about it. So finally, last month we decided to proceed with donor IUI. However, RE recommended another semen analysis since DH lost 80lbs and was much healthier. Just like people always say, when you least expect it, miracle happens. We froze a good enough sample for IVF. We are going to have our first IVF cycle in February. RE is very optimistic that we'll be successful on the first try.

I have researched IVF a lot, but I am still very anxious. I hope that I will be able to share my fears and anxieties with all of you and any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!! Hope your stay here is short and sweet . Glad you have a sample frozen for IVF and that your RE is very optimistic. It helps to have a lot of positive attitudes. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Someone here will have an answer for you. We've all been there done that. Also feel free to vent your anxieties, fears, etc. That's what we are here for. This board is a huge support and you will meet many wonderful ladies here. DH and I are no longer TTC but somehow I can't manage to leave this board.

Advice...just know that IVF is very physically, mentally, emotionally and financially draining. Lean on your DH for support (and us). It's normal to feel a rollarcoaster of emotions. One minute you may be optimistic and 30 seconds later you'll be feeling like it's not going to work.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Reading some of the success stories on the board has calmed me down a lot I have a great support system at home, but best advice comes from the first hand experience. I hope that all of us get our blessings soon

I'm a graduate that just can't seem to leave this board either. Just want to welcome you and wish you the best of luck! What great news that your DH was able to take charge of his health like he did!
