Late AF and othr stuff-m/c, child, preg mentioned

AF is now 4-5 days late. I actually don't remember when I last got AF since we kind of gave up trying and I'm trying not to obsess about TTC. I usually have very regular 26-27 day cycles and I got AF on a Wed or Thurs last cycle, so should've gotten it about then this time. I told DH I'll give her some more time to show up before I POAS. My cycles could be messed up from my failed IVF cycle but with my 1st IVF cycle that didn't work, my cycle returned to normal. Even after my m/c and D&C I had my regular cycle and ovulated the exact same day I usually do. There's a lady in the town I live in that had multiple failed IVF's and they gave up and she had a garage sale and sold all her baby stuff and found out a week later she was preggers. I just had a garage sale Fri and yesterday and sold the baby crib and changing table and some other baby stuff. I didn't get rid of it all because I thought it would be too emotionally hard for me right now and I was to lazy to go through it all, so it is still taking up a corner in our attic. I would just die (not really, but probably from excitement) if this happened to me. I didn't do OPKs so I don't know when I ovulated, but I can usually feel when I do and we DTD around that time and not just for baby making reasons (which actually was nice not to have that stress). I also bought bedding and am going to put a bed in what would've been the baby room and make it into the guest bedroom, so I have totally given up on the thought of having a baby. It would be a miracle to get pregnant naturally.

Also, I just found out my next door neighbor has an IVF baby. She was born last June. We found out she is pregnant again also. They came to our garage sale and bought a dresser and DH helped them get it in their how and they said that she had IVF. The wife had a tubal ligation, then had it reversed and it didn't work so they did IVF and were successful their first try. Then she found out 3 months ago that she was pregnant and it happened naturally, so now the husband is going in for a vasectomy. I always had this thought in the back of my head that maybe she did IVF, I don't know why I thought that though.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've been checking in but haven't had time to respond to everyone's posts. Now that the garage sale is over, hopefully I'll have more time.

Not much to update. I do feel nauseous at times but I think I have some heartburn so I started Pepcid for it today. I was taking an antibiotic for an upper respiratory infection so that could've caused some stomach irritation. I also took a shot of something with Everclear in it the other night. I'm not a shot taker so that could've burned a whole in my stomach.

I made a tutu for my new baby neice. It was so fun!! I'm getting onsies embroidered with the letter "N" on them for Nola that match the onsies. Too bad I don't get to see her in it since she lives in GA.

I feel great now that we have come to the decision of not doing another cycle. I have more energy and motivation than I've had in a long time. DH and I have been doing better. I really think the stress of IF is what was causing us to have problems in our marriage. DH told me last night that he doesn't think we'd make it through another cycle.

I still like to hang around here and cheer for everyone.

Meg, yes, af was absolutely screwy for first couple months. But I'm hoping this is a miracle instead of a late witch. Praying for you!

HUGS!! Looks like you have been doing a lot of soul searching. Must have been hard to give away the baby things. Sometimes things happen when you least expect them so I hope the late AF means a wonderful surprise. You deserve it. POAS!! lol

I keep hoping for a natural BFP when you least expect it.

But if you're not TTC it wouldn't be "wasting" them but rather getting rid of them like all the other stuff. I am a total POAS pusher. Wink

I tested this am and it was a BFN. I didn't want to test but am planning on drinking some wine tonight so wanted to know if I should or not. Now I am out of pee sticks. Looks like she is just late to the party.

Hugs Meg... I still think that natural surprise will come your way one of these months... In the meantime, it's nice to hear that things are better with DH - the IVF rollercoaster is so tough on couples, sometimes you need to get away from it to really appreciate eachother again.

By the way, your gifts for your niece sound so creative and adorable!

Got AF yesterday. Stupid me...I totally miscalculated where I was in my cycle. I figured out Thurs night that I thought I was a week later than I thought. I guess that's what happens when you don't pay attention to your cycle.

i'm sorry about the bfn. However it did cross my mind that its nice to 'loose' yourself in the cycle. Thats something i've not done in probably 5 years, maybe once and only for a few days. I look forward to a time when i'll not know when af is arriving etc.

Thanks ladies!!! Life is so great right now. I haven't felt this good for about 2 1/2 years. I am actually enjoying everything and am able to spend money freely not having to worry about IF expenses. We are going to add a new deck (hopefully if we can get a zoning permit) to the front of our cabin and a patio in back and paint the place. I've been talking to DH about me getting breast implants, of course he is all for it. So I think we will do that after the first of the year when we have money in our health savings account. I always told myself if I didn't get a baby, I was getting new boobs. I am very small chested, this is all for me. DH is happy with my size now. I think new boobs would improve my self esteem and raise my confidence. Also help out in the bedroom (if you know what I mean) because I will feel sexier!

I'm not very active on this board anymore. I check in on everyone a couple times a day, but don't post as often. I don't know what'd I'd do if I didn't check in on pg.org. My DH is happier because I'm not as addicted to it.

Utahgirl and Vanessa...how are you doing?

Meg, I'm so glad to hear you're doing well! They way things are going for me... I may have to find a way to be at peace with being childless ~ I hope I can move on as gracefully as you have! :bigarmhug:
