Late July/Aug cyclers

I thought I would start a thread for the July-August cyclers. Im hoping there is someone out there that is possibly cycling with me but I might be out of luck since we just had a few that just got done.

AFM: I am on day 3 of shots. So far so good. My first appointment is on Monday and I am hoping for a decent number of follies. My day 4 always sucks because my E2 is usually low and not much going on. I really need this to work. I love you gals but would love to graduate. I am doing everything, thinking positive, acupuncture, diet change and not stressing. So I am giving it my all. Will update on Monday after appointment. Have a good wknd.

I'm hopefully starting soon for my FET but we're waiting on red tape and I don't know how much longer I'll be. It's so very frustrating!

G- I hope you can start soon. The wait just kills u.

Jodie- Glad to have you here. I am kind of in the middle of the cyclers looks like. Keep me updated.

AFM: Day 4 of meds and wow do I feel my ovaries. I am a slow responder so I'm on 600 units total. But I dont remember feeling the ovaries so early on. I hope the dose is not too high. Im sure if it is they will adjust it. Tomorrow is the US

Hi- I am super-new to this. In fact, this is my 1st IVF cycle and my first post here. My cousin recommended this site as a good group for all this stuff. I'm not sure if I fall into your cycle or not. When you say day 3 of shots, do you just mean Lupron, or do you mean all the bigger stuff? As of Friday I am on 3 shots a day (gonal-f, menapur & lupron), so I guess this is my day 3 of all that. I go in tomorrow morning for my 1st blood draw and sonogram for this part of the cycle. Would love to know if I'm in the right board. Hope you had a good weekend!

Thanks so much! Couple of questions if I may...

1. If you have any recommendations for the best way to use this board, I'm totally open to advice...

2. Does anyone have a link for some sort of cheat sheet for all the abbreviations everyone uses?

i think i'm cycling in Aug......not sure when a 'cycle' starts....is that when you start BCP or when you start the shots? If it's when you start BCP - then it's Aug - cuz that should be next week. I also have my nurses' meeting on Friday of next week where i get my protocol and all the info.... this is all happening so fast....i mean, once we made the decision about a month ago to go for it, what are we waiting for.....it's just been a blur of talking to ppl.... ahh...but i'm excitied!!! and glad that there's a few of us gearing up or just begining!! yeah!!:yahoo:

Travelchica123: You are definetly on the right thread. Welcome and hope your journey is short and sweet. Well everyone's protocol is different but my day 3 includes lupron and the Bravelle and Menopur(FSH hormones). So we are actually cycling together. Smile

How was you scan today? Hope you had lots of follicles. Please ask if you have any questions. There are a lot of us here to help u.

Jodie: Hurray for starting on Sunday

Julie: I have already done all the BCP's and now me and Travelchica123 are on our stimulation part. So your a litlle behind us but welcome to join. When things get rolling, it comes at u real fast. Ask us any questions you might have,

As for me: I had my scan and as usual for me not too much going on. I have 3 follicles on left and right. Im a veryyyyy slow responder. I am hoping that next scan will be better. Estradiol was at 46. I am hoping to see a few more follicles next scan.

thanks @ibrahimi

scan today was good (15 follicles at almost 9mm - they said we're trying to get them about double in size and hopefully create a few more). we're in a bit of a different sitch...our issue is my husband and lack of sperm. we have to do an open TESA to see if they can find any. his tesa is the same day as my retrieval, which will probably be next week. so i am doing all this but we're not even sure we'll have "materials" to work with until next week. kinda scary but we can't think about it. just have to focus on getting through this week and hope for the best next week.

does the menopur burn you as much as it does me? i hate it...

Travelchica123: Wow, your responding really well on just day 4 of stims. You shouldn't have to wait to long for retrieval. Oh ok, so you have male factor. I hope they are able to find some to fertilize those eggs. Now that they use ICSI, even a few sperm should do it. Dont worry, Im sure they will find some. All of us are scared of what will go wrong. Stay positive!!

And yea the menopur burns but I say no pain no gain Smile

1. Feel free to look around. Most people start at the most appropriate board at the time for them. Get aquanted and comfortable and then when they either Graduate or are comfortable enough move to other boards as well.
So whilst you may start here you may end up on the April or May birth board. But then one of the other general intrest boards may catch your attention to and it becomes another board you can stop by and introduce your self on.
(BTW don't forget to post an introduction thread on here so others can get to know you as well.)

Woohoo Geohde!!! It still amazes me about the police checks for IVF when any drunken drugged up teenager is allowed to have babies and keep them whilst the goverment throws money and assistance their way. (ok I promise to get off my soap box now and be greatfull that it has not been introduced up here.)

Geohde-Glad to know that you will be stimming soon.

Travelchica123-Any updates with ultrasound?

ASF: Todays update was so far 9 follicles that are about the same size. E2 was 153. So looks like Aug 6 should be retrieval day most likely.

Hi Ibrahimi- Sweet of you to checkin. Question- is there a link to a cheat sheet around here of all the abbreviations? I'm having trouble keeping up Wink Btw, what's all this about the police checks? We didn't have to do that at all.

As for me, somehow your comment about the menopur burning the other night has helped me not have it hurt so much anymore. I've been breathing through it better thinking: no pain, no gain. I'm so new to all this and feel like you girls have been through SO much more.

I had another ultrasound this AM and have 20 follicles around 12-13mm. So I think quantity-wise I am good, but they want them to get to 17mm. My estrogen is over 1000, so I think they are getting worried about over-stim, so I have to go back tomorrow morning. We can't do our Ovidrel surge until at least Saturday night due to how they want to time my husband's Open TESA, so I think they need to string me along a bit. I'll know more by the weekend, but the likelihood is a Monday or Tuesday retrieval and TESA. That is really D-day to even know if we have "materials" to work with.

CONGRATS on your 9 follicles! That is great Smile

For how many days post-retrieval do you not feel well? I have been told recovery is 2-3 days. Is that right?

Oh, and I'm a bit bloated too...more on the left than the right...so I'm into my stretchy jeans!

But we use some odd ball ones here too so just ask if u dont know Smile Sounds like they are monitoring u well. You should be ready about Saturday or sunday to take the ovidrel shot. Hoping that all goes well with your hubby's procedure. As far as the post retrieval recovery goes, honestly it depends on your situation but with me I have never over stimmed and I am almost like new the next day. I even went to work. But I know there are others that have aches and pains. I hope you do okay.

Oh and gotta love those stretchy jeans. Smile

Yeah for stretchy jeans!! I also felt almost back to myself the day after retrieval... but I'm a low responder and I don't get many eggs and my E2 stays fairly low.

You seem to be moving right along... I hope you find "the boys" and your timing works out! *fingers crossed*

Hows everyone doing? Any updates

Travelchica123-have any Ultrasound updates?

So today's E2 was 366. It jumped from 153 two days ago. So more than doubled. That's good right? So far I have on left 10.85, 12.03, 11.81, 7, 7.6, 8.67 and on right 9.81, 7.87. Last cycle this cycle day I had almost the same sizes but had two that were in the 5mm range. The uterus lining is good too. So back on Monday. Hoping for a nice rise in E2 and plumpier follicleS.

thank you! is it too personal to ask how you remain so upbeat and positive? i mean, i know that a positive attitude and hope are important, but it amazes me the upbeat attitudes of the women in these boards who continue to try and try. i know that might sound weird, and maybe i'm just too much of a realist, but i'd really love your point of view.

Well, it took me some time to put things in perspective. Dont get me wrong, I have my "this sucks" days. This is my third try and through this journey I have realized that I really need to be thankful for all that I have in life. If I put myself down, then I am putting bad energy into my body and I am hurting only myself. So I smile and tell myself that my goal is to be a mom one day and I definitely will be. You will find some strong and amazing women on this board.

There is a book I suggest you read. Its called "Love and Infertility" by Kristen Magnacca. Its amazing

Anna I hope you have some nice plump follicles on Monday.
Travelchicka, :goodluck: for this weekend and Monday! Do you guys have a back up plan if no sperm can be found in the Tesa?

AFM: I think I ovulated on my own yesterday (CD17) But I will continue with the planned Provera for tomorrow. I guess I might be starting a week later than planned if that is the case.

thanks for sharing and for the book reco.

went for the blood/ultrasound this morning and we are good to go. ovidrel tonight at 9pm. one more round tomorrow am to conform all is good and then ER/TESA Monday bright and early.

@chloesgirl: no backup plan at the moment. we are just taking it one step at a time. that will be a really devastating conversation to have, so we figured we'd just have it if necessary.

keep ya'll posted! have a great weekend Smile

Just want you to know i've been trying to keep up with your cycles and i'm hoping everyone gets a bfp soon.

Deborah, welcome back from your break. It is great to get away from it all sometimes.

AFM: I started Provera this morning. Did my pregnancy test (which I knew was going to be negative) and started the meds. I will take this until Thursday and then Hopefully next Sunday/monday AF will be in town.

CD 1 for me.

My fert nurse at the clinic was particularly daft and I had to personally explain my protocol to her. It's a worry that I pay so much money for such general clulessness about FET protocols Smile

Also, they've effed up my referral details and my recent critical bloods. It makes me wonder sometimes, really it does...

Scary that we 'hand over' our babies to these people sometimes eh? I don't know how a fet works, its shorter than a fresh cycle right? When do you expect the transfer?

I've had it in the back of my mind that I could be pregnant. (no there are no symptoms or reasons for me to feel this way) I just figured that everyone says 'put your paperwork in for adoption and BAM your pregnant... or 'plan on starting IVF and BAM the cycle before you are pregnant. Isn't this what everyone says to us? Oh and cramps are starting... but i'm happy about this Smile

I looked in my 'stash' and I have 4 hpt's but they are all digital. I don't want to see "NOT PREGNANT" in my face again so I didn't bother to test. I should just run them all under water and get rid of them. Wow, that sounded negative Lol Made myself laugh.

Deborah I keep thinking the same thing. Afterall it is what happened last time. (That is a funny story there.) I had to take a test before starting provera.... Not so lucky this time but I did take the test a lot earlier in my cycle this time. So we will see...

How's everyone doing?

I had my US yesterday and have a decent number of follicles. E2 was 1124. So Wednesday is my next appointment. I really want them to push my ovaries so I'm hoping that sat will be retrieval. Today i am Having an intralipid fusion. First time having it. Getting so nervous

Yea for follies Smile I'm curious about your fusion. I asked my RE about it seemed he didn't know what I was talking about. (I have been told he's the top RE in my province so i'm not worried) maybe its called something different here?

I hope it doesn't take long for baby asprin to thin my blood as I wasn't very faithful before now.

Well the fusion was a breeze. I just had to sit for a hr and a half with a IV in my arm. No biggie. This is supposed to kill the natural killer cells in your body that try to kill foreign bodies. The clinic shows improved implantation rates so they have patients do it. It is still under research.

I did it there and it did the trick, plus it cant hurt and it is not expensive compared to everything else we have to do. So glad you are progressing well!

hey ladies.....hope everyone is doing well!!

So, what is this fusion IV thing? Does everyone have those killer cells? Is that only if you have RH - blood or does it have nothing to do with blood...

Where is everyone in their cycles? THis IVF stuff is confusing....lol

Deborah, I take during the day a combo of Paracetamole and Nuerophen. At night I take Panadine forte (which I think is like Vicidone???). I Hope you also start to get better at taking your Asprin.

Anna, the infusion sounds intresting. Is this becuase you have an Antiphoslipid syndrome? (just curious.)

Yay Julie, one step closer now!!

AFM: Had my first accupunture appointment today for this cycle. The headaches have not been too bad. But I have also been trying to keep myself distracted with knitting, cooking, and other things.

Well, I've got my first monitoring scan Friday. I'm hoping not to see too much on 33 IU or I am CANNED. Forgot how stressful this all is....
