Latest update - May 18 (latest post #48)
Hey everyone, after I posted about seeing only 3 follicles and the fertility dr telling me there was a chance no eggs could be retrieved, things are looking a little better..... My U/S yesterday showed 4 large follicles and 3 smaller ones all on the right ovary. This fertility dr was different from Sat, and said that it still wasn't good for someone at 41 yrs of age, did I still want to go through with IVF? Um....heck yeah!!!! So more doses of stuff and then went to today's U/S. At least 2 of the follicles are large enough now (2.1 and 1.95) with a couple more almost there (I think 1.6 and 1.4 but I'm not sure), all on the right ovary. The 3 smaller ones are also growing but they don't think it will be large enough in time. What was surprising about today's U/S was that a view of the left ovary showed 1 large follicle (I think 1.75) and a few smaller ones. They will try to ER this one but b/c of the endo, they may not be able to get to it, plus quality is an issue. Last couple of U/S they didn't think anything was happening on the left ovary. Now we are proceeding with ER on Saturday morning. I got HCG to inject tomorrow, still have to do gonal-f and luveris and suprefact today. Gotta find a babysitter or something for DD Sat morning. Ahhhhh!!!! Stress!!!!! Now I know this may not work out at ANY time...but for now, it's hopeful. A lot more hopeful than I expected. I'm grateful and I feel blessed. I'll be back to comment tonight, gotta go back to the clinic for supplies!
