I'm not doing IVF this month but there aren't really any ladies doing injectables/iui over on the clomid board. I had my first mid-cycle u/s today and was shocked to have 3 follies!!! Usually by cd11 I have 1 huge follie (28mm or so) and trigger that day. Today I had two on the right (15.5, 16.5) and two on the left (16, 12.5). However my E2 was only 113. This is my 6th IUI and 2nd IUI on femara/follistim, but its my first cycle where they have tested my E2 (just started at a new RE).
They are having me stim tomorrow (tuesday) morning and again wednesday morning and then trigger wednesday night for a friday IUI. I know that E2 should be 150-250 per mature follicle, so clearly my follicles aren't mature yet... my question is how quickly does E2 rise? Is it typical for it to be this low before the follicles finish maturing? Do you think I'll have 2-3 mature follies or should I only expect to get 1?
Thanks for all your support and help. I hope you ladies don't mind posting on your board! There isn't really a good board for injectable IUI cycles...
I'm so glad you posted here. I used to post alot when I did my inject cycles too. This is the best place to come for advice and understanding IMO.
Having said that I don't know about E2 levels but i'm sure the others here do.
Any other details to share with us???

hhhmmm, I don't know too much about E2 on IUI's but I do know that E2 can rise quickly. Mine started at 30 was up to 350 after 3 days and then another 2 days it was up to 1000. So it can go up really fast once you get going I think. Maybe some of the other girls know more. Good luck and feel free to KUP!
Here's a website with lots of info. I referred to it all the time during my IVF. Scroll down on this page to see an E2 chart:
My own E2 went up very slowly and I took the maximum number of days to trigger. 12 days I think.

Thanks so much ladies for the help! I'm wondering if my follicles don't ripen until they are bigger than most ppl's b/c mine always get so big so fast. The weird thing is that in natural cycles I ovulate later than most ppl. So who knows how big they are by then!
I'll KUP on what happens and how it goes. I'm not sure I'll get another peak in there before the IUI. I don't know if this clinic will do an u/s on the day of the IUI or not... I'm gonna ask today if I can at least have my E2 tested again tomorrow morning.
E2 can rise quickly as you get closer to ovulation. In 2 days, I tripled my E2... that was the day before I triggered.
Looks like you will have a couple more days of meds before trigger... I would definitely push for another E2 test. I'm surprised they haven't done it regularly. Even when I did Clomid, they tested my E2, Lh and progesterone each time they drew blood.
Definitely keep us posted!! That many follies is sure to be a good thing!!
I don't have much advice other than what the other ladies wrote. Good luck and I hope this is your lucky cycle!!!
IVF #1-cancelled d/t embryos arresting before transfer (3/09)
IVF #2-BFP 9wks-7/30/09 (6/09)
IVF #3-BFN (5/10)
My E2 went from 752 on cd6 to 1100 on cd7 and that was with a decrease in Follistim from 300 to 225 - so meds definitely have an impact. GL!
Thanks again ladies!! I called my nurse today and asked her if I could have my E2 check in my town tomorrow (I live 2 hours from my RE clinic) and she said that wouldn't be a problem. I will feel a lot better once I know how my E2 is doing. I wish I could drive over and have them do an u/s again tomorrow, but I think we'll be OK. My follies always grow so fast, so surely they are a good size by now! I just really hope I still have three and not just one like in the past cycles!
I'll KUP and thanks again for the support!!
