MONDAY

Girls, please share your insight. What shoudl I ask at my protocol visit on Monday? I have antiphospholipid antibodies/lupus anticoagulant. I remember someone talking about an injection to combat that... intralipid or something.

Thanks! Two more sleeps till the visit with my RE Smile

Good luck on Monday!

I would ask for a calendar with all meds and doses for each day listed as well as if there is a time (before 9 am or something like that). It is helpful and it is fun to cross of each day!

I wish I had some suggestions but I"m no help in this area. Only one more night's sleep! Sweet Dreams tonight and I hope you have a great appointment. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Thanks ladies. Its Monday

I can't believe it. After my visit I get to officially join your club Smile

DH had the alarm set for 6am, too early for me so after he got up I re-set it for 10 just in case I needed that much sleep. I was dozing and dreaming, woke up to look at the clock and it said 12:20!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG

I lept out of bed and went to the hallway clock, 8:20. Guess I hit 'clock' instead of 'alarm'. Am I a bundle of nerves or what? Lol

I'm an IVF girl:)
I had a good talk withmy RE. Went over my history, he went over my bloodwork carefully after my questioning my worries with antibodies. My labs were just over the norm and so he didn't prescribe heparin, just asprin. He then did an u/s, measured how far to do the ET... this is news to me. I wish they had done that for my IUI's since one time the nurse hit the top of my uterus.

I will be on a long protocol. I start bcp with my next af. I'm relieved that i'm forced to wait a bit, more time to take extra folic acid and asprin. Basically I take bcp for two weeks, start snaryl (sp) for about two weeks and then the fun begins!

I'm so happy that I have a 'plan'. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and we will be fertilizing three eggys, and if all fertilize we will transfer all three Smile All other eggs I donated to the university for research.

Dh's s/a came back good. He was all proud Lol

Yahoo for being an IVF girl!!!!!

Glad to hear you have a plan and can get started soon. Do they not fertilize all of your eggs?

they normally would but we chose to only attempt to fertilize what we would use immediately as I honestly don't see myself having twins and then going back to have another set of multiples (or even singleton). Any embie that we create I want to give it a chance at life. It lowers our chances of a bfp significantly but based on my spiritual/moral choices this is our best option for everyone concerned. I'm so happy that our RE is willing to honor this decision, at my last RE he wanted to try a minimum of 8, and I just can't 'gamble'.

I was surprised that in my consent forms this was actually an option on what to do with your embies etc, and actually they want me to state how many even starting at one eggy to try!

I know this is my choice and I truly respect everyone's 'traditional' IVF protocols so don't worry girls Smile I love you all.

ETA: I don't know if I wrote that correctly. More like you all know I respect you, every decision with infertility is a difficult and personal one and thats how I view it. I just hope you don't all think i'm crazy for my choices.

I thought maybe that was a clinic policy. Everyone has their own moral choices and they deserve to have that respected. I'm glad your RE is being supportive of that decision.

Yay for a good appointment! Even though the cycle seems long, it'll go by before you know it.
