Any words of wisdom that you would pass on to: Our RE gave us a 10% chance of this cycle resulting in a pregnancy. Due to only having 1 embryo to transfer, and the "poor" quality of the embryo. To our total shock and surprise, we got a BFP! My words of wisdom is that I am living proof that the grades don't necessarily predict your odds, and the dr's are not always right! Even though we were given bad odds, I went with my gut instinct and went ahead with the cycle anyway. We are so grateful we did. Do not lose hope, it CAN happen!!

What DPO did you got your BFP: 13dp5dt I believe
Number of first beta: 293

Any words of wisdom that you would pass on to: Do NOT give up...I wanted to give up so many times but I was determined. After my m/c I wanted to wait a few months but got back in the REs office the next month for a transfer....that resulted in my sweet baby boy
ALSO - research everything...know what meds you are on, what they do, what your options are, etc. Don't just believe and do everything you are told without knowing why you are doing it.
Like Ami - I did acupuncture on Monday before my Thursday transfer but never again. I didn't like it very much...but maybe it helped?!?!?
Name:
Age: 31
How long have you been TTC: 2.5years
Diagnosis or any known IF issues: PCOS, MFI (absent acrosomes- zero morph, count and motility normal range).
Have you tried other treatments before IVF: Clomid.
How many IVF's did you do before success: 1 fresh, two frozen cycles.
Protocol (meds taken): fresh cycle- long lupron type downregulation protocol with BCP's(except with synarel as this is inhaled and not injectible), recombinant FSH (puregon) 100IU, crinone (vaginal progesterone) after transfer. Frozen cycle 1- artificial HRT cycle with estrogen/prgesterone sequentially, abandoned after transfer due to unstable endometrium. Frozen cycle 2- ovulation induction with poor response, eventually ovulated CD31, low progesterone so pessaries and HCG booster shots. BFP.
How many eggs retrieved:: 17 (15 mature)
How many eggs fertilized:: 12
How many days between ER and ET: 2 (customary to do D2 Tx here because emphasis on fet's- and day 2 embryos survive thaw cycles better on average).
How many and quality transferred: fresh cycle- 1 high quality embryo (not listing grading as not helpful without knowing my clinic, as they all have individual protocols for grading embryos and there is no accepted convention!). FET 1- two, medium quality, Frozen cycle 2- two, one medium, one only fair.
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: nil. Nil for entire first trimester.
Did you take a HPT before blood test: yes, because I was taking HCG boosters, my tests never got negative, but the pos line got darker.
What DPO did you got your BFP: Noticebly darker by 8DPO.
Number of first beta: 701
Number of babies: two.
Any words of wisdom that you would pass on to: Try not to sweat the small stuff. Timing of most injections isn't such a big deal if it's off a bit (bar trigger), stairs are not your enemy, you can still shower, travel and have sex in the tww.

Age: 32
How long have you been TTC: 2 years
Diagnosis or any known IF issues: "unexplained infertility"
Have you tried other treatments before IVF: 3 rounds clomid/IUI's, 3 rounds injectables/IUI's (all failed!)
How many IVF's did you do before success: 2nd one was a success
Protocol (meds taken): lupron, follistim, hcg trigger, progesterone suppositories
How many eggs retrieved: 1st time 6, 2nd time 5
How many eggs fertilized: 1st time one, 2nd time 2
How many days between ER and ET: 3 days
How many and quality transferred: 2 "perfect" ones! (I forget the grading now!)
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: None
Did you take a HPT before blood test: Nope!
What DPO did you got your BFP: I guess it was 14 DPO
Number of first beta: 170
Number of babies: 2 - Sean and Emma born 10/24/06 at 38 weeks!
Any words of wisdom that you would pass on to: Don't transfer more embryos than you are comfortable with! And just because you don't have 20 eggs retrieved and 15 fertilize doesn't mean it won't be successful. My two babies are the only two embryos I had. And they are feisty two year olds now!
