PIO question (pg ment)

How long do your RE's keep you on PIO after a successful cycle? Just curious. My RE stops at 8 weeks (which was yesterday). I'm nervous, of course, and I think I am going to finish off the bottle. When I was 7 weeks, I asked the PA about the placenta taking over and she said it had already taken over but they go till 8 weeks just to be safe. That seems earlier than a lot of RE's.

My RE had my P4 level tested at 10 weeks and based on the result told me to go from 3 doses to 2 doses a day, then at 11 weeks I went from 2 doses to 1 and by 12 weeks I was off it completely.

I was told I could stop at 10 wks-but I am nervous so when I see my OB this wk I am going to ask if they can just check my level before I just go cold turkey like that.

Last time it was 8 weeks too but I was having some spotting/bleeding issues so I begged them to let me stay on it longer so I did it until 9 weeks. No issues after I stopped. I'm sure it's fine b/c my RE clinic is AWESOME and very good but I just get nervous. Smile

I think I was able to get off around 7 weeks when my progesterone hit 50. I begged at every appt to get off of it though. It was so painful for me.

With #1, off PIO at BFP, but on Prometrium suppositories until 12 weeks.

With #2, PIO + Crinone until I htink 9-10 weeks.

8-9 weeks for me, but I begged to stay on it until 12 weeks for peace of mind.

I did crinone instead of PIO, and I was told to stop it at 12 weeks

With my pregnancy with DD, I was on PIO until they saw the heartbeat on u/s, (6+ weeks) then switched me to the old school suppositories until about 10 weeks. With this pregnancy I was on Crinone until 10 weeks or so.
