What do you hate the sound of?

The sound of ppl brushing their teeth gives me the heebie-geebies. I can barely stand to think about it without it giving me goosebumps.

Nails on a chalkboard, and my husband constantly makes a high pitch sound with his knife on a plate - it hurts my ears so bad.

Margaret - I would say the same thing. We have Corelle which is great when you have kids... but it is easy to make that sound with a knife on the plate. I hate it when my husband scrapes his spoon across the bottom of bowls when eating. Oh and slurping.

Yes, the scratching of the knives on plates. I agree. Children mentioned...also lately it's been children sniffing their noses. All 3 of my girls have colds and we rode 2 hrs in my dad's truck so they were sitting right behind me and they sniffed the whole way up there. You'd think they'd get the hint of "if you need a kleenex let me know" but they didn't, they kept sniffing. DD2 doesn't like to blow her nose because it stuffs it up more. I asked her if she like to suck her snot back up and have it go down her throat...sounds yummy to me.

I can't think of any sounds I hate...I don't care for nails on a chalkboard but I can handle it. I can tell you a sound I LOVE! It's the sound of cicadas on a Summer night. It reminds me of home. I grew up basically on a farm where there wasn't any bright lights of the city or annoying traffic noises. I went to college and all of that changed, but for 18 years I went to sleep with the most wonderful sounds of nature!

I agree with you guys... nails on a chalkboard.... or anything like it. Yes, utensils on plates.
