Results appt today - Updated in 2nd post

We have our f/u appt this afternoon to go over the results of the labs that were drawn last week. It's very nerve-racking to not know what's going on but hopefully we will get some answers. I guess I'm just relieved that they ran some tests to begin with (our other clinic didn't and just decided to 'guess and test'). So we'll see! Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers ladies.

Good luck today!! Update us when you can. I'm glad you seem to be able to trust your new clinic.

I'm not really at a place where I can talk about it yet but the news was not good. Essentially I have diminished ovarian reserve and I only have less than 1/3 the amount of eggs that a "normal" person my age should have. The clock is working against us because I could also go into early menopause at any time. This is completely out of left field and absolutely devastating. But thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

*Update* (I'm not sure if this is how I do it or not)
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I've had some time to process things and am feeling much better about it now. I'm still pretty scared and shocked but we'll get through it. The plan as it stands now is to do IVF the week of Oct 17th. The doctor seems pretty confident that I'll respond to the injections since it's a different protocol than the old clinic was using. We go next Thursday for our all day nursing consult with additional testing (I assume they will do mock transfer at that point? They mentioned something about a saline US - maybe someone can help me out with that ). There are 2 glitches though (aren't there always?) - my thyroid level was a bit out of whack so he doubled my dosage. We'll have to push things back if my levels don't change but I don't expect them not to. The other thing is that DH is traveling for work literally every.single.week starting the week after next until the 17th - that's the reason why the doctor chose that week to do the IVF. I've been through injections before and they are not fun. I'm a tad nervous about experiencing all those wonderful side effects on my own. So that's where we stand. I have about a million questions but I'll save those for later. Thank you again for letting just hop right on this board. It's very comforting to know that I'm not alone.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That's the diagnosis I received. My first RE didn't test me for anything since he "assumed" it was male factor since I was young. After going to a 2nd RE we came to the conclusion it was dimished ovarian reserve. It's hard to get a diagnosis like that when you are young. We are hear to listen if needed. :bigarmhug:

There are several others on here that have DOR; I am one of them. There is a great book called "Inconceivable," but I can't think of the author's name right now. I just re-read it though. Don't give up hope! Women with DOR have a harder time getting pregnant, but it is possible! I have more to say, but don't have time to even be on here right now. Just saw your post and wanted to respond quickly.

With the saline u/s they'll put saline in your uterus to look at it. Then they'll do the mock transfer so they know how far to go in when they do the real transfer. Sounds like you have a few stressors, but you will get through them. Could your thyroid levels have anything to do with your IF? I know thyroid problems can affect fertility. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.

I'm sorry about your appt. After the initial shock, it can often feel empowering to finally know what is going on and to then be able to formulate a plan based on that. My one piece of advice is to never give up (although sometimes a little break here and there can def save your sanity) because miracles do happen. xo

Super late to this post, but wanted to offer my support. Although I was never diagnosed with DOR, I suspect that it contributed to my IF/RPL. Good luck and keep us posted on your IVF progress! :bigarmhug:
