Transfer done! Need some positive thoughts. Updated w/ pic

Hi gals,

So got back a little while ago from transfer. I originally had 10 eggs retrieved, 7 fertilized. Today they transfered 4 embryos (day 5). The doc said that 3 were blasts and one a morula. The blasts were a little behind but it was really early in the morning and that it could change in 4 hrs if we waited. I wish that they were, full or expanding blast but the doc didnt seem to be worried. He said they looked good. I would appreciate some "less that perfect success stories" to ease my anxiety. I will try to upload some pics when I figure out how to.

Thanks in advance

I'd say it's a good thing your doc didn't seem worried about the progress your embies are making. On my 2nd IVF cycle on day of transfer (day 5) we called in the morning to see if we even had any embies left as our 1st cycle all of them arrested by day 5. We were told that we had 2 embies that were at the morula stage. They tried to do AH but couldn't because the cells were so tightly compacted. We drove down to the clinic (a 2 hr drive) and when we got there we were told one had changed into a blast (so in about 3-4hrs time it changed). We transferred a blast and a morula, I don't know the grading of them because we weren't told. I did get pregnant from this cycle. We'll never know if it was the blast of the morula that implanted. Unfortunately, as you probably know from my history, this cycle ended in a m/c due to reasons unrelated to IVF.

Sending lots of postive thoughts and prayers your way to get at least one sticky bean!!

Thanks Meg. The doc was saying that it was early on in the day so that makes me feel better. A lot can change in a few hrs. Just put so much into this cycle. I hope this works. I get back home on Tuesday and I cant wait. I will be here for almost a month. When I get back, I will be busy starting my classes.

I'm sure it will be nice to get back to your own home and get into a routine again. When is your beta?

I transferred 2 less than perfect embryos that were close to hatching and I got 1 perfect child out of that transfer Smile I bet your LO is hatching away right now as s/he implants.

I have a picture of Deacon as an embryo on my blog if you want to see it. Its on the right side of the page about half way down.

Anna, Congrats!! You're PUPO! I have a good feeling for you. And I was told during my first cycle when my only good embie was not yet a balstocyst on day 5 that sometimes they can take until day 6 and also that they do better once they are back inside you. Positive :vibes: coming your way. Any symptoms yet? lol

Thanks CCindy, did you get a BFP that cycle? They had done the ICSI in the afternoon so transfer day was in the morning so not technically 5 days yet. I just need one to stick. Oh, a little cramping but nothing crazy

Ok, so just uploaded pic of the embies on first post. LMK what u think. 3 look like early blasts and one is a morula. Do u see one hatching?

I think they look beautiful, and remember that now they're in the best environment! Congrats on being PUPO!!!
My cycle was similar to yours. They retrieved 10 eggs, and 7 were inseminated through ICSI. Out of those, 5 fertilized, but on day 5 when we were about to head out for the transfer, they called saying that those were a little slow in developing and wanted to wait one more day to see if they would make it. Two were transferred and the rest were considered non-viable. One was "great" and the other was a little bit behind, but they still looked like they were a day or 2 behind. They did assisted hatching to help them out.
I never expected a bfp, but both of them took and we're expecting twins in november.
Here's a pic of what they looked like on day 6 the day of transfer.

My symptoms were cramping since the day after transfer until 7-8 weeks, and nothing else.
Take care of yourself and enjoy being pampered these days. I've got all my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you for the story. Your embies hatching looks amazing and not only that they were a little behind and now you are preggo with both!! Makes me feel so much better. Its gonna be ok. I am having a little cramping too but no other symptoms. Thanks again Smile

Thanks everyone else for the support. Lets hope this works

I'm a little late to this thread, but wanted to wish you luck and send you sticky vibes!!! :vibes:

I agree with pp that the embies are now in the best environment for growing and implanting, so just imagine that that's exactly what they're doing! Good luck!!

Thanks. I hope so. The progesterone always gave me cramps for some reason though. I might just POAS this wknd. I am a little scared to.

Kinda bummed right now. Just got off the phone with the embryologist that the other embryos didnt make it. Also she told me that the blasts that were transferred were graded as poor quality. So I am feeling like this hasn't worked again. This is so hard.

I'm sorry Anna. Sad

But don't give up hope - they transferred 4 right? That's a lot of chances! Are you going to test tomorrow? I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Don't give up yet. You tested late in the day so your urine was very diluted. Try again with FMU.
