I've been MIA for a while now... started a new job and it's been a bit crazy
Had my follow up appt. from my last IVF cycle and the new doctor is changing things a bit. She was not happy with my last cycle (DUH! Neither was I!!!!). So, she is switching me to Lupron and a down reg cycle rather than the Ganirelix. I'm a little nervous about the Lupron cause it means more shots What are the side effects I should watch out for with Lupron??
We are hoping to do our next cycle in January (probably late January). I'm going for a sonohystogram tomorrow and if everything checks out OK then we are good to go for January! YEAH! I'm so nervous but excited. We also talked to the new doc about putting back 3 embies (if I have 3 available- which hasn't been the case the last 2 cycles) on Day 3 instead of 2 and she's fine with that. She is really hoping that we have enough embies that we can go out to Day 5 and put back only 2, but we'll see. I haven't had much luck getting more than 2 embies to Day 3 so Day 5 seems like a long shot!!!!
Anyway... just thought I'd update quick Now I just have to update FF since I'm not on CD69, LOL.
That sounds like a good plan. I wasn't on Lupron so I don't have much insight to help there. I'll be rooting for you and hoping for some good embies! HUGS!
I have not done Lupron, but goodluck with the shots and the next test for you.
As for doing the injections, they are not scarey. We just do what we have to do.
Motherhood after Infertility
Hi Amanda - Good luck on your upcoming cycle. 1st off, with lupron, the needles are tiny and the injection doesn't hurt at all. If you had to add a shot, this would be a good one to add vs the huge PIO The side effects I had were mainly headaches. I had an annoying dull headache every day when I was on lupron. That was the main side effect I can remember - other than that with the other stims you may not notice much else - you may not even get the headaches, hopefully!
Again, good luck!
Good to hear from you!!
Glad you got some answers at your appt. Sounds like you like your new doc and she has some good insight. I agree with PP that the biggest side effect for me was headaches, but I'm prone to headaches to begin with. I'm glad to hear that you doc is ok with putting 3 back with your history.
Looking forward to stalking you in Jan!

IVF #3-BFN (5/10)
Best of luck with a new cycle Amanda! I am also glad that you found a new job! You really need to keep me updated on FB.
Bummer... I'm prone to headaches, too!!! Well, if that's all I have to deal with, I guess it's worth it Did my sonohystogram and everything is great. They said my uterus is "textbook" and perfect. At least something is good! LOL! Cramping like crazy, but they said that should only last a couple days at most. I'm glad it's over and my drugs have been ordered. Let the games begin!
Jenn: Thank goodness the needles are small! I couldn't do it if I had to do the PIO. Thankfully, I can't have PIO I really hate needles... I did okay when I knew the stims and ganirelix would be over in a couple days. Not sure how I'm going to manage doing Lupron for a couple weeks... then stims on top of that! EEK! I just keep repeating to myself that it will all be worth it in the end.
Meg: I like this new dr soooo much better than the last one. I know I'm a little more difficult than some people because there are so many things I can't have because of my blood disorder... I'm hoping 3rd times the charm. I'm glad they are letting me put back 3. Let's hope I have 3!!!
Mel: LOL... with my new job, I hardly find time to go on Facebook. I keep getting calls from people asking where I am. It's so much harder when working outside of the house! Boy do I miss the days of working in my PJ's!!!! But I love being in an office again... it's GREAT! It's nice to have people to vent to if you need it, LOL... they are much better listeners than my dogs
