    Margaret:

I am so sorry for your loss, and although it was expected, it doesn't make it hurt less. I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of her and the peace that she has found.

Not much sleep last night but not surprising.

The funeral was today. It was nice, both laughter and tears. It was raining which I found appropriate. Mom was 74 and before the Alzheimer's was a character. My niece spoke just before me and had me crying a bit and I was emotional during my speech. Everyone said they loved it. It is nice seeing family but I am so glad that this part is over with. I am spending tomorrow with one of my nieces that I have not seen in a bit. We may go to my grandma's grave and I will try and get to my dad's grave as well.

    Going to bed pretty soon.

Your mother was so young. I'm sorry she had to suffer from Alzheimer's. It's such a sad disease process. Sounds like you did a great job with your speech. It's always such a relief to have the funeral and everything done. Everything just seems to drag from the time of death until the funeral and it's all just so exhausting. My grandma passed away a year ago and I remember the emotional drain. Her's was expected also and a blessing but was still so sad. Glad you are able to spend some time with family you haven't seen for a while. When do you go home?

I have to be at the airport for 3pm on Saturday. Sean and Robbie pick me up at 8:30. I have to fly to Calgary first, wish it was a direct flight but it was so much cheaper to do it this way.

Spending time with my niece was really nice. This was one of my biological nieces. We went to my grandma's grave and then to lunch, then back to her place to continue chatting and see pictures of my bio-family.

Tomorrow I am seeing some friends from high school - June 2013 is our 25th reunion!!! (I am old) I will also go to my dad's grave. In the morning I will say good-bye to my niece and nephew who came from Utah.

My body is still having issues with time zones by the time I adjust I will be flying back.
