Default vivelle dot and PIO shots

I was reviewing IVF schedule the nurse gave me and i noticed that i will be taking both vivelle dot and pio shots after my ER.

Has anyone else done the same?

    Thanks!

    Default pg mentioned

Yes I had to do both with my 1st and 2nd cycle. The vivelle dots are estrogen and the PIO is progesterone. With my 2nd cycle that was successful, I wore the patches until my 7wk u/s then stopped then. My last cycle (different RE, different clinic) only had you do the patches if you did a 5dt. I did a 3dt so I didn't have to do them. I think the reasoning behind the patches is to slowly bring down your E2, so it doesn't drop too fast after ER.

Rachel - just curious - are you going to an RE in the med center or near your house? Wondering if we used the same one - but I think I remember that we didn't.

I didn't use the patches but glad Meg was able to give some info.

    Jenn,
What a small world...I don't think I knew you were in the Houston area. No I live in League City, it would be way to far to get to the medical center. I see Dr. Phelps (UTMB), he is great, small office, but wonderful staff. I assume you are seeing someone in the medical center...

I live in the Woodlands/Spring area but I went to see Dr Dunn at Tx Womens. I loved him!!! I haven't been back to him in a while and I had a lot of hassles with my insurance company and his billing dept (not his fault of course) so when I am ready to do another FET I will transfer my embryos to the IVF docs in the Woodlands. Their names escape me at the moment but I'm sure you have seen their billboards all over the place - they say IVF Miracle and have a heart on them?! I emailed them a while back to get info and the actual doctor himself responded and answered some of my questions about protocols I was interested in. That sold me on the office!
