Woohoo!

I just had my CD9 ultrasound and I'm excited to report that it went GREAT!!!! Due to my VERY low AMH level, we weren't sure I would even respond to stimming...but I did. My Dr. almost fell off his seat when he reported 28 follicles! That's right 28!! Yahoo We are pleasantly surprised! He was so happy! At the top of my chart it says DOR and he said "I can cross that off"! I'm so excited. He decreased my follistim to 300 and we go for another u/s on friday and ER on sunday or monday!!! Yahoo I'm feeling so good about this cycle now.

Thanks Meg! I have 31 follies nice and big. Took my trigger last night. Since Friday night, I have been miserable. Lots of bloating, cramping and pressure. It is super hard to walk. I worked thursday and friday night. By saturday morning, after a 12.5 hour shift, I was in tears. I paged the doc to make sure that everything was okay. He said because of my fibroids, my frame and the large number of follies; that this is particularly hard on me. They took me off work from then on. I'm excited to have my ER and get some relief. However, he said that once the eggs are out, the follies will fill back up with fluid for a bit. I will get the same full bloated feeling. IVF is not easy.

Holy Moly  you have a lot of follies!! Pay close attention to yourself for OHSS. I had 6 eggs retrieved and I had OHSS symptoms. Make sure you drink plenty, esp. Gatorade or a drink like that. I hope you are not too miserable after. My last IVF cycle (with a different RE) my RE gave me a med to take to prevent OHSS since I had symptoms with my 2nd cycle. I can't remember the name of it but it was drug used for cancer pts. If I'm remembering correctly he didn't like the E2 getting over 3000 and I was close to that before my trigger. Can't wait to here your update. You're one step closer to a baby!

Hope your ER went smooth today! Remember to take it easy after. In addition to lots of fluid (Gatorade like Meg suggested) my nurse said to have DH go out and get whey protein to drink in smoothie's (or whatever you like). Apparently, the protein is supposed to help with the bloating. I don't know if it is true, but I got 32 eggs our first round, and was pretty uncomfortable but I feel like it could have been a lot worse. Like Meg, they also put me on some type of med (not sure what it was, but I did have to take it as a suppository) and I'm sure it helped. The worst mistake I made was going back to work too early- don't be afraid to take time off and rest!
