Default worst back pain ever!!! OT

Yesterday I was cleaning up...nothing even strenuous and I think I twisted I'd pulled my back wrong and had a back ache yesterday...this morning I woke up crying in agony as I continued to have back spasms with even a head turn!! I can't barely even move, I'm in bed waiting on the re nurse tocall back. I think its almost pointless to go see a regular doctor since I can't so any x rays, no muscle relaxers or anything...I have never felt worse pain. DH is making me some bkfast so I can take all my fertility meds...just wanted to see if, while off topic, anyone had any advice?

Sorry you are having back problems. Hmmm...what you can do...have you tried heat on it. I can't really think of much else since you can't take any meds. I can ask my DH who is a physician what can be done for it.

Ill take any advice The re nurse called back and basically said tylenol and alternate.ice and heat and if I consult my regular doctor to be sure to tell them its highly likely I'm pregnant ... but I have to drive almost 70 miles to my Dr (since were military and we chose to commute) and honestly at this point there isn't much I think they can do...thanks ... I really just like venting to you ladies lil that in itself makes me feel better

I thought I posted again but it must not have posted it...
How is your back doing today? Probably going to the doc would be a waste of time. since they wouldn't do much. As much as I'm sure it will hurt, you need to start doing some stretching exercises and move around. My DH does a lot of workman's comp injuries and never takes ppl off of work for an injury. He finds the more the person is up and moving, the faster they get better. It's the ones that sit at home that never get better. Hope you are getting some relief.

No, its not really any better... it seemed like it was getting a little better, at least the spasms were going away but then any progress I make through the day, I wake up (after laying - doesnt matter if its back, side, propped up with pillow) and this morning, I woke to several monir spasms.... I havent gone to the doctor because I know its pretty much a waste of time without being able to take anything but eventually I need to probably get it looked at if its doesnt get better - its been going on a few days already with little improvement

    ***Lurking***

If your doctor allows you, getting a referral to see a physical therapist may help. There are some specially trained in women's health if you are lucky enough to have one by you, and that would be great, but most orthopedic PT's are trained in treating back pain in pregnant women anyway. If they know you are pg, they would know what precautions to take, but they can prescribe exercises use massage and help you realign if needed. It can definitely help, especially since you can't take medications.

    Congrats on your pregnancy, BTW!
