Would love to hear your + FET stories (child/pg ment)

I'm an old member of this board - I did my fresh cycle in the spring of 2008.

We're in the midst of an FET, transferring either tomorrow or on Thursday. I'm not really feeling like it's going to work at the moment because when I talked to the doctor today she said tomorrow will be the likely transfer date because 3 of our embryos aren't looking good. The other two are okay, but not great. When we did our IVF cycle, we transferred two excellent embryos and had one take, resulting in our daughter. I'm worried that the two we have left won't make it, and we won't be able to do another full cycle for a long time (years).

I'd love to hear your positive FET stories...especially those that don't involve perfect embryos. Thank you!

:bigarmhug: Sorry Joy - I don't really recall what the quality was of both my embryos.

However, I know that my 4 remaining embryos have been categorized as "poor" and "just ok" so its kind of discouraging.

I hope this cycle works out for you - I don't think the embryo has to be perfect to work.

Joy, we transferred 2 grade 8A embryos during our fresh cycle was told we had a 80% chance of success but it didn't work. We had 3 frozen embryos which we thawed for the FET. 2 were grade 6B and 1 was 7C. I wasn't very optimistic given the 8As didn't work what are the chances of these lesser grade embryos working? Even the RE said our chances were like 25-30%. Well wouldn't you know it one of them held on after the transfer and now DD is 16 months old.

I hope your FET is successful. Good luck!

GOOD LUCK!!

I was lucky and had my son from fresh IVF #1....no viable frozen embies. He is a 3dt of 2 great embies.

IVF #2 and IVF #3 were 5dt of 2 great blasts each....chemical pregnancy and BFN....just did not work for me with everything being textbook perfect. Even though I was assured my first cycle with my son was actually pretty terrible and I was lucky to have him (duh, I know that!!).

IVF #3 actually had 4 viable frozen embies stored at the 2pn stage. This was our last hurrah. I told the RE to thaw all 4 to day 3 and transfer what made it....we had 2 good ones on day 3 and lo and behold, I am almost 34 weeks pg with baby #2.

I had no faith the FET would work when the fresh did not....the only thing giving me hope is that I was convinced that for me, 5dt did not work and 3dt did, so I wanted to give this last try the best chance I could.

I calculate my overall IVF odds as 50% successful per cycle and 25% successful per transferred embryo...not the 70-80% I was assured my age, factors, etc gave me.I really hope you have a successful transfer and a new baby....this process is so hard and only when it is successful is it all worthwhile.

Take Care and keep us posted!!!

We transferred two embryos today. They're going to continue to culture our remaining three, but it's unlikely they'll make it to blast to be frozen. We had one morula and one 10-cell, both had moderate fragmentation. My RE gave us a 25% chance of pregnancy and if we get pregnant, a 40% chance of twins. So the wait is on! My beta is scheduled for the 16th, but I'll poas before then.

Good luck, Joy! I hope you get your BFP from this cycle and all of the worry and stress is a distant memory.

I had the same fears that you do when I had my first FET, but DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED! The only success I have had is from FET's and I am now a SUPER fan of FET vs a fresh cycle. HA!

My story - First fresh cycle we transferred two "beautiful" blasts, 1 took but resulted in m/c at 7.5 weeks. First FET we transferred 3 blasts that resulted in one healthy baby. Second FET we transferred 3 blasts that resulted in one healthy baby. I'm now in the 2ww on my 3rd FET.
At transfer time, my clinic is always very vague with me on the quality of my frozen embryo's. They won't really ever tell me one way or the other & I try not to push it b/c I'll just obsesss about it anyway. However, my doc did tell me that if that embryo makes it to blast -they consider it good quality. Who knows.. but either way I am a big fan of FET b/c that's the only way I've had success. And keep in mind that the way they "grade" embryos is really just an assumption of what makes an embryo of good quality. There isn't really a sure way for them to know.
Good luck!! Biggrin

Congrats on being PUPO! My one and only FET was the cycle that got me to the 16wks I'm at right now with twins. The fresh transfer before the FET used the "Grade A" embies Diablo and resulted in m/c of twins. We transferred everything that was left for the FET - 4 "Grade B" embies and here we are. I'm not sure there's a whole lot to bank on the grading. I feel like the embryologist still don't have a clue what they're looking at. Best of Luck!!!

I've been POAS, I have no self control and even though I'm only 9dpo, I've been POAS. BFN. I've been pouring over IVF charts on FF and I know it's too early to be testing. I got a + at 9po with my daughter though, so it's hard not to be upset by this one.

I feel pretty good, sore boobs from the progesterone, but that's about it. I didn't have any symptoms last time, so I'm not going to fixate on lack of symptoms.

Oh yes, 9dpo is way too early. I never got a BFP until 11-12 dpo with FRER and that was with a fresh-BFP (my son), a fresh-BFP (chemical pg) and a FET-BFP (current pg).

Also, FET's can be slower to implant....I had a low beta to start with at 14dpo (60's), so I did lots of research and worrying and even my RE's nurse said they can start out a little bit slower, so don't get discouraged.

I've had mixed luck w FET's- (chld ment)- my twins were from my second FET, but my first FET was a neg and my third was a m/c.

FET's do work Smile

BFN. I went in today for my beta a day early because I started spotting. Sad We're meeting with our RE on Tuesday to re-evaluate and talk about a fresh cycle.
