Chaos
I definitely feel rushed. We go to my IL's and then my parents and this year, it felt like we had to eat and run from both places and even then, we STILL didn't get to Toys R Us before opening time. I'd rather sit back and enjoy my dinner and family and then go shopping after the kids are asleep.
I've never been into Black
I've never been into Black Friday. I'd rather stay at home and veg out or go out and do something fun with friends and family. I'd rather shop on Cyber Monday in my jammies!
I feel bad about the people that have to work on Thanksgiving day just so retailers can make a few extra bucks.
Thanksgiving, along with
Thanksgiving, along with other major holidays, serve as a time for extended family to gather together. We don't have dinner until 6 p.m. -- then clean up that mess to then serve desserts and repeat the process. After that we work to clean up again, visit, and relax.
In the past, I have LOVED Black Friday sales. With our large family they enabled me to buy things that otherwise would have been out of reach. This year, however, there simply is no way for me to break away without disrupting our family gathering. YES I would love to get some of the early sales, esp. since those are more kid-oriented products that I'm shopping for... but I won't disrupt our family time even to save money. I know that the years are slipping away all too quickly along with these opportunities to be together.
(Also -- I do have family members that have to now work Thanksgiving and will miss out. BOO!)
Pre-black Friday sale on Zulily.com
Many parents are looking for pre-black Friday sales. I found this awesome one at Zulily. I am going to stock up with this sale. I want to get as much sleep as I can when he is born!
I am personally looking
I am personally looking forward to the sales for Yule presents!
Black Friday shopping
I don't do Black Friday unless it's online but I love Cyber Monday!
I don't do Black Friday at
I don't do Black Friday at all! One of the great things about being a Karaite Jew is that we have ABSOLUTELY NO gift shopping to do (outside of birthdays, of course).
