You might already know Dania Ramirez for her roles on "The Sopranos" and "Heroes," and she's going to be taking on a new position in the coming months - mother! Ramirez recently confirmed her pregnancy with the media, and she elaborated on what's in store for the future with her sonogram, according to Us Weekly magazine. Specifically, Ramirez revealed that she's expecting twins with the image.
"I am proud 2 Announce our 2 NEW BUNDLES OF JOY!" Ramirez wrote on Instagram as a caption for the photo. "Yes, I'm having TWINS!"
This comes less than one year after Ramirez wed director Bev Land. The two tied the knot in February, and Land already has a child with a previous woman. Ramirez said they fell in love in 2012 and knew they had something special.
"The moment I turned around, he casually asked me and our mutual friend to join him for lunch and once we started talking I knew I could talk to him forever and we haven't stopped talking since!" Ramirez told Latina magazine shortly after her engagement.
Preparing for the arrival of twins
Once your doctor confirms that you're having twins, you're likely going to have several pregnancy questions and concerns about how to take care of two babies! However, there are a few key preparations you can make to ensure that you're ready to hit the ground running.
First, it's worth noting that having twins doesn't mean you need to own two of each item. Many pieces can be shared between the babies, as you'll quickly find once they arrive home. Next, stock up on diapers and other essentials such as formula sooner rather than later - you can never have too much with twins. Finally, look for ways to save money on items such as baby furniture by shopping at secondhand shops. Talk to your friends to find out if they have hand-me-downs that would work for your little ones.
Having two babies can bring a world of change into your life, and it can often become overwhelming. Don't hesitate to ask for help from your partner and relatives once it comes time to bring the newborns home - you'll be glad you did!
