Once you find out you have a baby on the way, your life is going to change forever. Actress Halle Berry already knows this, seeing as she's the mother of a beautiful little girl, but she's going through pregnancy symptoms all over again at the age of 46. Berry recently announced that she's expecting with Oliver Martinez, 47, and now she's making news for more than just her pregnancy.
CBS News reported that Berry decided to wed her longtime boyfriend, Martinez, in an unexpected ceremony that surprised the public. She invited just 60 close friends to the event, which took place in France near Burgundy. Berry, Martinez and their guests stayed at the Chateau de Vallery. Berry's publicist, Meredith O'Sullivan Wasson, was able to confirm to the news source that the two tied the knot.
Currently, Berry has a 5-year-old daughter named Nahla from a previous relationship. In the past, the actress told Entertainment Tonight that her latest pregnancy was a "big surprise," but she welcomes it with open arms.
Can I have a baby in my 40s?
There are several advantages to waiting to have a baby until your 40s. One of the most obvious benefits is that you'll likely be in a better financial situation, and you may also have used your time in the past to accomplish other life goals such as a successful career.
However, Fox News stated that it's worth noting that it can be more challenging to conceive later in life as your fertility levels drop. Speak to your doctor about having a baby if you make the decision to do so and you think your age might be a problem.
