While it's no secret that pregnancy comes with its fair share of challenges - for example, having to give up wine and sushi - not everyone sees the nine months as a complete bore. Just ask Kim Kardashian, who recently announced that she's been having a blast since breaking the news of her pregnancy to the world before the end of 2012.
"It's been so exciting," Kardashian told People magazine about her new life with rapper Kanye West and their baby-to-be. "We're very, very happy."
The reality star made an appearance at Mirage's 1 OAK on New Year's Eve to toast to 2013, but Kardashian told the crowd she couldn't participate in the champagne festivities as a mommy-to-be. Needless to say, the audience forgave her from declining the offer and everyone celebrated to West's songs as the clock struck midnight.
But can you have fun during your nine months without alcohol, raw fish and other activities that could potentially affect baby development? Kardashian proves it's possible, as well as other mothers who've been through the same thing.
If you still want to toast with your friends, there are plenty of non-alcoholic martini recipes you can take advantage of during dinner. In the end, you might find many of them to be tasty enough to drink after your delivery!
Another way you can occupy your time and avoid feeling left out while pregnant is to take up a hobby that fulfills a personal passion. This might be painting, knitting or simply curling up with a good book. Your pregnancy will give you plenty of downtime to rest, relax and enjoy hobbies that you may not have time for on a regular basis.
