QUESTION
Dear Midwife, My husband and I are both 36 years old. We tried for 11½ years before getting pregnant for the first time (without any fertility treatments tried). I did develop gestational diabetes during the pregnancy. Our healthy baby boy was born via cesarean section 5 weeks ago and we have two questions.- When can we begin to try to conceive again?
- How long should we try before seeking help from the OB-GYN?

Dear Midwife, I am a young Sero-negative Arthropathy suffer and my husband and I are trying to fall pregnant. We are trying to find out as much as we can about the effects this disease has on the chances of falling pregnant. Just to make this even more difficult when I was 16, my gynecologist said I had polycystic ovaries even though they found no cysts when I had ultrasounds. I was put on the pill and had been taking it up until July this year. We have had no luck yet in conceiving so what can we do to increase the chances?Could I Be Pregnant Already?

QUESTION
Dear Midwife, I am 16-weeks pregnant and have been having periodic pain in the middle of my lower abdomen. I usually feel it when I lean forward real far (like when I am standing up from sitting or getting out of a car). It is different than the round ligament pain I get on my sides. I have been having it on and off for two weeks. I don't have any other symptoms of a bladder infection such as frequent urination. LisaIs Lysine Safe During Pregnancy?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife, I have herpes and to avoid outbreaks, I take large doses of Lysine as soon as I start to feel an outbreak coming on. Also, if I feel a cold coming on, I take large doses of Echinacea to ward off the cold. Are these things safe while pregnant and how much does the dosage matter?Friends (5)
