When you're a celebrity, the public eye is constantly on you, meaning the slightest change in your appearance is likely to be noticed. This is what Black Eyed Peas' lead singer Fergie is going through as rumors swirl that she may be pregnant, according to The Huffington Post.
Stacy Ferguson - which she is known as off-stage - was recently seen on Super Bowl Sunday, doing some shopping in an oversized cardigan. If Ferguson truly is expecting, this would be her first pregnancy with husband, Josh Duhamel. However, when the singer was rumored to be pregnant in the past, she effectively combated speculation by admitting to gaining weight.
"[People ask if I'm pregnant] every time I fluctuate a few pounds," Ferguson said on the "Rachel Ray Show." "Like right now, I'm a couple pounds up. Sometimes I go a couple pounds down and I wear the clothes that are more fitted, but people kind of look at me because they're expecting [that] it's that time. We do hope for children and that will be coming up, but it's not yet."
Ferguson and her representative have yet to make a statement on the matter.
The dos and don'ts of maternity wear
Just because you'll have a growing baby bump throughout your pregnancy calendar doesn't mean that you need to be unfashionable. The key to looking chic while pregnant is opening your mind to new styles. For example, peasant shirts can effectively cover up a baby bump and they're worth trying, even if you've disliked wearing them in the past. As a rule of thumb, don't simply opt for oversized clothing and hope that it looks fabulous on your body. Maternity wear is designed to suit your specific clothes without making you feel larger than you already are.
