  • Counting Your Eggs: Can a New Test Predict Your Future Fertility?

  • A Patient's Guide to Inducing Ovulation

Ovulation induction is a process whereby -- through drug therapy -- some of the 1,000 eggs lost monthly are rescued from atresia and allowed to develop to maturity. The following discussion is a description of the process of ovulation induction.

  • PCOS and Ovulation

    QUESTION

    Dear Midwife,
I was just wondering if you have to have a period every month to conceive and or ovulate?

I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and so my periods are very irregular. I don't even know for sure if I am even ovulating. How can I find out if I am ovulating when I do have my period?

    Thank you,
    Misty

  • Amanda's Journey In the beginning...

It all started with Emilee getting sick mid September. Long story short, she ended up being hospitalized on September 28th. After all the stress that night, I found I was getting my period. It was kind of the straw that broke the camels back. I just lost it.

  • Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor

We used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor computer for 7 cycles. It showed the uptake in hormone levels and then showed the little egg for ovulation. After the 6th cycle we consulted with an RE, started Clomid, went thru an IUI, and are now waiting to see what happens.

This is the information I want to pass on.

I can't remember the rest of the words to the song (to my blog title), but it's exactly how I feel when it comes to trying to have a baby. This is my first blog entry ever. I thought I would do this to get my feelings out there because I can't quite find a blog from someone who has gone through what I have. Maybe by doing this I will connect with someone who understands what I'm going through. All of the fertility blogs I have read are either by someone who has gone through far worse than I have, or someone who was infertile when I started reading, but is now blissfully pregnant.

  • Mother's Day With Empty Arms

There is no simple solution for decreasing the emotional pain of child loss, especially during a holiday such as Mother's Day that is specifically designed to honor mothers. A mother can, however, make some preparations for that day in an attempt to work through her grief rather than facing this holiday with an anticipated dread.

  • Checking Your Biological Clock

Despite the long lifespan American women now enjoy, their reproductive lifespan remains unchanged. In most women, a gradual decline in fertility begins in the late 20s and then drops off more sharply around age 35 and then again around 40.
