Progesterone Levels After Ovulation
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
We have been trying to conceive for 9 months now so last month I had my progesterone blood levels checked on day 21. They came back as 14 which my doctor says indicates I did ovulate. However I have been looking things up on the net and they all seem to say levels need to above 30 for ovulation.I am 42, have a 20 month old who was conceived 2nd month of trying and then had one miscarriage conceived after 2 months as well. I am worried now that due to my age I have run out of eggs. Is my doctor mistaken?

Getting Pregnant Again with Low Sperm Count
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I am 25 years old and trying for a second child. It took my husband and I almost 6 years for our first child. We had testing done and I was fine but he had a low sperm count. The doctor said that it was very unlikely that we would conceive without in-vitro or artificial insemination. However, 8 months after the testing, we were successful in getting pregnant on our own.I was just wondering if it was likely that it would take us a such a long time this time.
Thanks.

Symptoms, But a Negative Test?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I am feeling very frustrated and disappointed right now. I have been trying to conceive for about 4 months. I have a 35-day, regular cycle. I was due to start this past Sunday, July 13th. I had cramps and low back pain like normal, but no period. It is Thursday, July 17th and I still have no period. I tested on Monday, July 14th and it was negative (morning urine). I also tested this morning (Thursday) and it was negative. What's going on....
Hi there, well i'm not actually trying to conceive but had to choose a catagory. However, I am a bit puzzled!! I have a 28 day cycle usually, regular as clock work, therefore my last period was dec 9th and I should have been due around Monday. However, I have had no cramps or signs of AF coming as I usually would. The puzzling thing is, I was away for xmas and returned to my partner on the 29th of december and well yeah we had some catching up to do! er hem... plenty of action... but I doubt I would have been fertile at this time as it would be day 21 or so of my cycle.
Amanda's Journey In the beginning...
It all started with Emilee getting sick mid September. Long story short, she ended up being hospitalized on September 28th. After all the stress that night, I found I was getting my period. It was kind of the straw that broke the camels back. I just lost it.
TTC #1 - "We are each of us angels with only one wing..."
"...And can fly only by embracing each other."
I'm Lindsay. I'm 25. My DH, Jeremy, is 26, almost 27. I'm at the end of my 10th cycle. It's depressing, and I'm pretty sure AF will show up soon. I'm hoping for a longer LP since my signs for PMS showed so early. Who knows. Maybe I'll get lucky and end up pregnant, but I doubt it. My chart isn't looking good. I wouldn't know what pregnancy feels like because I've never been pregnant. I can only compare what I feel to PMS by saying that it's similar. But isn't is similar EVERY month? Basically, the answer to this is simply yes.

PCOS and Ovulation
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I was just wondering if you have to have a period every month to conceive and or ovulate?I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and so my periods are very irregular. I don't even know for sure if I am even ovulating. How can I find out if I am ovulating when I do have my period?
Thank you,
MistyThe Journey Begins - Chasing the Egg
Well, here I am 1.5 weeks after AF awaiting ovulation for this coming Monday. DH and I are already "practicing" for O day and I gotta say, it has been fun to say the least. :) We have been BD'ing every other day since Monday, and I plan on making it daily by this Saturday and doing it twice on Monday. DH is very excited about this plan. He can't believe I'm gonna wake up early on Monday to BD before work lol. For me the more sex we have the sexier I feel, which makes me want to do it more. Good combination for wanting to conceive.
Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor
We used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor computer for 7 cycles. It showed the uptake in hormone levels and then showed the little egg for ovulation. After the 6th cycle we consulted with an RE, started Clomid, went thru an IUI, and are now waiting to see what happens.
This is the information I want to pass on.
