Is Decaffeinated Green Tea Okay During Pregnancy?

Alexandra Powell Allred's picture

Dear Fitness Expert,
I am about five weeks pregnant and have given up caffeine. I have been drinking decaffeinated green tea every now and then. I have read about other herbal teas not being safe but have not seen any articles regarding green tea.

Is it considered unsafe during pregnancy, even if it's decaffeinated?

Thank you,

It has almost been three years since the day we lost you, and still, not a day goes by without a thought of you, a wish that you were here, with me, on earth. I never stop wondering what you would have been like, what you would have looked like. I know your brothers would have loved you...

What Should I Do Differently To Make Breastfeeding Work?

Kathleen Tackett's picture

Dear Lactation Consultant,
I am a mom of three with another baby on the way. I tried to breastfeed my second child but I had alot of problems. My nipples were cracked and bleeding before I even left the hospital. The nurses and consultants said that the baby was latching on correctly, and that it was because the baby had a very strong suckle. I used breast shells to ease the pain between feedings, I soaked my breasts in warm water before feedings to help with letdown, I massaged them, I tried nursing the baby in different positions -- nothing seemed to work.

How Can We Prepare Our Dogs For Baby?

Jennifer Shryock's picture

Dear Pet Expert,
My husband and I have 2 adorable labs that are both 1 1/2 years old. We've had them since they were puppies and absolutely love them to death. We our expecting our first child soon and we want to do whatever we can to prepare them for the baby.

Our dogs are both very well behaved around small children, however we're worried they won't know what to think since they have gotten all the attention thus far. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you kindly,
