Kimberly A. Tessmer's picture

Dear Midwife,
Hi, I am 12 weeks pregnant with my fourth child, and suffering from bad flatulence. I was wondering if this is a common problem or a dietary issue.

I have bad morning sickness and have had with all my pregnancies, having lost 3.5kg since falling pregnant this time round.

Please help, as this is quite embarrassing. Thanks.

So my first pregnancy was when i was 15 years old and it was during my sophomore year of high school. not really my fault or anything, just put myself in a bad situation but hey couldn't change the past. but i found out my child was gonna be a boy and i was happy. when i was 16 i had him. he was due may 1st but he came 2 wks and 4 days early. it was apr. 13th 2007. he was 7lbs 6 oz and 20.5 in. long. i named him trentyn xavier. his labor/delivery was really easy, only about 5 and a half hours long and with no pain meds and vaginal, with an episiotomy. i gained about 45 pounds with it.

well, NT scan has put into high risk for Downs. We have only one baby with a NT of 2.8MM at 11Wk+6 days. This brings my risk to1:21 but bloods take it back out to 1:146 which is better but still high risk as they call it. I have beeked amnio for 6th April at SUFW with the guy who introduced NT to Australia - God don't I wish I would have the guts to tell him what I thought of this horrible screening procedure. I only really went to have a nice scan and a better dating estimate than I currently had and now I've got this sickness at the pit of my soul.

Dear Fitness Expert,
I just found out that I am one month pregnant. I am on a very tight budget so it is difficult for me to go to the gym. I attend classes full time and I work full time.

I would like to know what is the safest way for me to get a workout that won't be harmful to my baby. I am also overweight and am concerned about my weight gain during my pregnancy. Please help me.

I am 6 weeks along now. We found out a week ago exactly. We had been trying for about 4 months and of course I am so impatient that I went out and bought an ovulation test. Turns out we didn't need it. I realized one morning after Doug had gone to work that I was probably two days late for my period so I took a pregnancy test. It was positive! I was kind of in shock at first. I had thrown up a week before and taken a pregnancy test but it was negative. It wasn't until after I took it, that I looked at the box and it said it won't be able to tell until you are within 4 days of your period.
