I just found out yesterday afternoon that I was pregnant with number 2. We weren't exactly trying, but we weren't "not" trying either. I didn't have any of the symptoms that I had last time so I was definitely caught off guard when the doctor said I was pregnant. DH was definitely happy, which is nice to know! Now I am scared to death about the increased cost of child care, which will be the biggest expense, but I have time to figure that out. Now I am just trying to let it sink in!
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
January 27 - first visit to the endocrinologist. What a lovely chap. Took time to go through the whole pathway for thyroid hormone production and explain why I needed to be watched closely throughout pregnancy. For now, my T4 levels are normal and TSH high at 7.7 but hopefully with doubling dose of thyroxine, things will proceed smoothly. Apparently the baby will be milking my thyroxine for its own use so my levels need to be normal to high normal. Ben woke early despite having been on night shift the day before and today to accompany me to the appointment. Thankful for small gestures.
Can someone point me in the right dirrection for health coverage ( no ins. now )

9 days have passed since we found out that we're pregnant. The reality hasn't kicked in partly due to the fact that I have't got many symptoms. Having said that, today my boobs feel very sensitive. I am only praying and hoping that morning sickness will be mild or non-existent (one can hope!). It's funny how finding out I'm pregnant has made me worry about the slightest awkward movement, slightest twinge and exactly what I put into my mouth. I'm sure most first time mothers-to-be would feel the same way. I did another pee-on-a-stick today just to see that positive result...crazy huh?
Ok well I just found out this morning that I am pregnant( I took 2 tests)( I am 18). I'm going to a doctor this Friday to get started on my journey but honestly I'm in a rut. I live with my boyfriend and 2 of our friends in a 2 bedroom and of course we don't eat right all the time. Between college and working nights its really hard to. I don't even know like what to avoid or what I should eat more of.
I really just don't know...Help ...Please..
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
Hi. I had my lmp about Dec 16, could be a few days later. I have 30-33 day cycles. HPT was positive 1/14 HCG level was 18 that day HCG was 67 1/16 319 1/19 and 1528 1/22 had an u/s 1/23 because of slight pain and pressure on right side ( had an ectopic on right side FEB 08 and had lap surgery kept my tubes). Had a miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks August 08.
I have a 45 minute bus ride every morning followed by a 15 minute walk through the heart of San Francisco. The bus is bumpy and jerky and smelly. It's been very challenging for me to get to work and home with the morning sickness I'm experiencing. I remembered that once while on my friend's sailboat, he offered me sea bands which are simple elastic bands that have a small hard plastic ball that applies a small bit of pressure to the inside of your wrist. This special acupressure point helps with nausea.
