Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
I had my first scheduled ultrasound today at 16 wks. Everything else checked out fine...but I was told by the radiologist that I never formed an amniotic sac. I have amniotic bands instead. He told me it was something that needs to be monitored because as the baby grows, the bands can stretch and snap or the baby's limbs can become entangled.
I am six weeks pregnant with my second child. With my first (now 3 years old) I developed a mild case of gestational diabetes.
Should I start following the gestational diabetes diet now, or wait until the glucose screening test to see if I have it again? If I follow the diet starting now, is there a better chance that I won't develop it?
hi, i have had 2 miscarries in the last 3 years. i have endometroitis. I did a test yesterday and am pregnant about 5 weeks. I went to the doctor today a new one and she is checking for every thing. I am scared that i will miscarry again, but it feels different this time. the other 2 times i never got sick. i feel sick all the time lately. I hope every thing is good and our baby is healthy.
How do I know at an early stage of pregnancy if there are any complications or my baby is not developing properly?
I had my first baby through emergency c-section last year. My wound still has not healed so I am having surgery in which they will open it and clean it from the inside.
I was told last week that I am MRSA positive and today I found out that I am pregnant.
Will this surgery and the MRSA be harmful to my unborn child?
6 years ago I got pregnant with my daughter. Every thing was going great until I was 4 months. I started having contractions. At 4 1/2 months I was put on bed rest because my uterus was 50% thinned out. At 6 1/2 months I went into my OB because I had not felt the baby move in two days. They did a stress test and rushed me to have a emergency c-section because the baby was very small and her heart rate dropped. My baby girl had no problems and is very healthy today.
Dear Ms Ultrasound,
I have been told by one doctor that there is evidence of the cord around the fetal neck. But when I checked with other doctors they said it is not possible to see cord in normal ultrasound if not done in color.
I want to know the limits of ultrasound. Is it possible to see cord in black ultrasound or does it have be done in color to see the cord.
My daughter was born at 41 weeks 1 day. She was frank breech and born at home vaginally. She was head down the day before and even at the initial labor checks (just checking from belly no ultrasound).I felt her moving way too much during labor so I and my midwife believe she flipped in labor. The entire pregnancy I measured way ahead for my due date like anywhere between 3-8 weeks ahead. but she was only 7lbs and 21".
I just found out yesterday that I was pregnant. And the bloodwork just came back this morning so I talked to my doctor. And I am infact pregnant. Probably only a few weeks. Since this is the first time pregnancy for me, I'd like to know as much about what to expect, stories, everything on pregnancy. I have a few books including What to Expect When Expecting, i just want to know all different things from all aspects. I'm very excited and so is my fiance, but yet I'm also very nervous because all I can think about is the pain parts of pregnancy, espesially labor, and I'm not good with pain.
