Second Trimester

hello everyone

Okay so I'm 18wks and i feel so pregnant. All i have been doing lately is eat and eat but so far all is well my second ultrasound is next wednesday and that day we find out if its a boy or girl. I can't wait to find out me and my fiance are ready and waiting for the big day. Anyway thats all for now I'll make a new blog when we find out.

hmm.. now what?

I am prego with #4. We really were fine with just 3 but I feel someone else had different plans for us. We are soo happy. I am 17 weeks along and will hopefully find out what we are having in a couple of weeks. I think what worries me is that we have been through this so many times there is nothing to prepare for. We have all the clothes, toys, crib, everything we need.. I almost feel like the excitement is missing because we don't have to go get all that stuff. Does that make sense to anyone? I get excited talking about names.. but now that is over.. we have picked those out too.

I never knew...

I never knew how difficult pregnancy would actually be. I was just always so excited for the miracle of birth and becoming a mom, that I never put much thought to what a strain it would be on me and my body. The thing is, I always hear women talk about their pregnancies so fondly, as if it was a walk in the park and really one of the best times of their life. Now, don't get me wrong, I am incredibly excited for my little bundle of joy, but their are a lot of unexpected difficulties. I don't have a generally sensitive stomach so never paid much attention to morning sickness.

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
My OB/GYN ordered a GCT at 24 weeks, my results came at 160 mg instead of 140 when given 50 gms of glucose 2 1/2 hrs after a meal.

She next ordered a set of non-challenge tests - Fasting Blood sugar and Post prandial BS. Fasting result was 68 and PPBS after 2 hours was 79.
