It's time to find a pediatrician. Referrals are a good way to find one you're comfortable with.

Baby settles in under mom's pelvis. This process is called "lightening" which makes breathing a little easier for mom. Baby's new position doesn't stop her from kicking and punching.

Take some special time with your partner or spouse now, before the baby comes. Veteran parents, get a sitter!

Planning on using cloth diapers? You can make your own, or contact a service.

Only 10 percent of women's water break, but if yours does, call your healthcare provider to prevent infection.

Baby might begin to drop farther towards the cervix. You'll walk easier but have to urinate more often. Darn all that water...

Birthing rooms are a nice alternative to a regular hospital room. Ask if there is one available.

It's very common for first pregnancies to last longer. Some sources say a week past your due date is about average.

Labor starts and your contractions are real now, not the Braxton-hicks. They are more frequent and last longer.

The umbilical cord is 20 inches long and will support the baby through birth until the lungs take over.

When your water breaks, you might experience a huge gush or just a small trickle.

Your doctor may decide to use a cervical gel, such as Prepidil Gel to help ripen or help soften, thin, and dilate your cervix and induce labor.

This could be the day! Not all babies are born on their due date! They can be very early, early, late, or really late.

If you're being induced, Pitocin will be administered through an IV and gradually increased until your contractions begin.

It might be necessary for a c-section to be performed if labor has not started by today. This usually is the case with hospital births.
