1 30 wks LMP (28 wks gestation) | 2 Couvade often returns to men, bringing depression, fatigue, and weight gain. Increased communication helps, along with regular exercise. | 3 Personal Reflection: "I remember the first time I felt my baby kicking and thought how amazing and wonderful..." | 4 Baby's body continues to grow quickly. Your baby's brain is developing well, with different sections taking shape. | 5 Colostrum may begin to form in your breasts. It is the predecessor of breast milk. | 6 You may have more Braxton-Hicks contractions but don't worry. Try lying down and see if the contractions subside. | |
7 Swelling, high-blood pressure, headaches, and/or changes in vision might be pre-eclampsia. Call your healthcare provider immediately. | 8 31 wks LMP (29 wks gestation) | 9 Your baby should typically be head-down (or vertex - feet or buttock down is called breech) at this point but don't panic if your baby isn't. There is still plenty of time for the baby to turn. | 10 Personal Reflection: "I realize that becoming a parent is a real gift and to not take any moment for granted." | 11 If you're having a baby boy, his testicles have dropped from his abdomen, where they grew, into his scrotum. | 12 It's time for childbirth classes. Sign up if you haven't already. | 13 Personal Reflection: "I loved being pregnant, other than enduring morning sickness the first 4 months." |
14 Your baby's taste buds develop. Yum, that soup was good, Mom! | 15 Lunar Month 9, 32 wks LMP (30 wks gestation) | 16 Fetus may hiccup, cry, taste sweet and sour, and respond to pain, light, and sound. | 17 You may gain weight faster now than any other point in your pregnancy. | 18 Baby's brain and nerves are developing directing bodily functions. | 19 The volume of amniotic fluid begins to diminish. | 20 Pregnancy isn't permanent. The mood swings will disappear eventually. If they don't, you'll want to seek some professional advice after baby is born to help combat Postpartum Depression. |
21 Baby's bones get stronger, limbs get fatter, and skin takes on a healthy glow. | 22 33 wks LMP (31 wks gestation) | 23 Do you have your baby's name picked out yet? Try our Baby Name Database to get ideas! | 24 Baby's fingernails are growing long. Don't be surprised if you need to trim both finger and toe nails after baby arrives. | 25 Try to ignore the formula samples you're getting, unless of course you really have no choice. Breastfeeding really is best for baby and saves money for mom and dad. | 26 A surfactant, which helps baby breathe after birth, coats the air sacks (alveoli) in the lungs. | 27 The placenta, which feeds the baby and acts as a barrier between her and mom, continues to grow. |
28 You might notice an increase in discharge as you get toward the end of your pregnancy. Nothing to worry about unless it smells or looks greenish. |
